Hope you’re all healthy and safe in these strange times we’re living in.
Before I say anything… what about that amazing show of support for the NHS that took place by way of nationwide applause last night? I honestly didn’t think there would be much happening around by me as it’s fairly quiet at the best of times… but no!! All credit to my neighbourhood and the whole nation as we applauded those who are working flat out to help us and our loved ones. As I stood on my doorstep listening to the cheers and applause, I was moved by our response of solidarity and gratitude. It made me very proud and not just a tad emotional either, so well done!!
In the current climate and with spending more time at home, I’m amazed at how we can at times overlook what may appear to be silly little things. My children (not so much childlike these days as all fully grown adults) did a lovely surprise afternoon tea for Mother’s Day.
As you can see it was a super spread alongside one of my favourite flowers – The Tulip (capitals intentional here). I love tulips, they don’t always last but these ones are still going strong a week later! And the day after, I continued the theme with a lovely cuppa and a scone with clotted cream and jam!!
Delicious…. but it did cause a debate to ensue here at QVC the other day whilst I was sharing my passion for the “little things in life” (as is the title of this blog). Which should you put first, the cream or the jam?? Me? Not fussed at all… as long as they both feature!!
In the photo you’ll note that cream went last but that was purely because I really wanted all that decadence at first bite!! I haven’t had a cup of tea and a scone at home for ages, but I vow to do this more often. Having said that though, a hot cross bun and a cuppa is a strong contender at the moment too!
Of course we have lots of delicious treats on offer here at QVC too. I’m particularly loving the Easter offer from Hotel Chocolat, a set of two Extra Thick Filled Easter Eggs, and of course those delicious Wilfreds Pies!
If sharing is a challenge because of the distance we currently have to keep at the moment though, then you may want to tune in to Lee Holbein and myself at 9pm on Saturday as we launch the Amazon Echo Show 5, which will help us do precisely that.
We can indulge and stay in touch at the same time!
In the meantime… take care and stay safe,
Anne xx

Hi Anne,

You are such a lovely presenter so natural and a pleasure to watch.

Hi Anne, could you tell me the designer of you glasses. They are gorgeous, I have tried looking at the arms, they look like CHHC? I have been looking for a pair similar, my old ones are CHHC, I to have varifocals they do take some getting used to especially when you are looking down, I actually have to take mind off when trying to see the different settings on my oven.
Hi Yvonne……thanks for getting in touch. Regarding my glasses….nothing fancy….good old Specsavers!! My first time going there. Not disappointed (except may need to return to have another look at my prescription)
So many people have commented on them. Yes I have to have varifocals and anti glare for the cameras.
I got them just before Christmas so shouldn’t be too hard to find.
Let me know how you get on.
Hi again Yvonne……forget to add the hugs and kisses (how rude of me!! 😆)
Take care

Hi Anne
Glad you had a super Mothers Day.
Just wanted to let you know that in these difficult times it was great to watch you with Michael Perry today. You entertained us royally whilst still being very professional. I’ve laughed at every show, you were like a double act. Just what we need! Love your shows.
Take care and stay safe.

Hi Anne, on a comp!sadly different tack, please can you tell us what range is the lovely, green, floral tunic i keep seeing you wearing. Keep on keeping on Anne. You’re a star. Many thanks. Lynne
Hey Carol.
Great to hear from you and thank you so much for your words of kindness and encouragement. It’s not difficult getting on with everyone here as they’re all so lovely. Probably the main reason I enjoy coming into QVC is down to the people I get to work with (both in front and behind the cameras)!!
Keep watching and stay in touch.
Take care

Hi Lynne,
Good to hear from you and glad you like my top too. Unfortunately it’s a rather old design from Butler and Wilson so I doubt it’s still available.
I’ve had quite a few compliments on it. It tends to come out for an “airing” on my Garden Shows at times.
Hope you’re keeping safe and well.
Take care
