I had the most lovely few days celebrating with family, spending time with the nieces and my mum whose birthday it was (see below.) Plus two lots of baby love from both of my grandchildren. All in one weekend! How lovely. Plus don’t miss the Hotel Chocolat deal coming next Thursday – see below for the presenter chocolate challenge!

Lights are out!

Plus, fancy getting some Christmas lights you can leave at all year round? Very vibrant colour changing decoration lights, which I had a play with at my brothers last week. Here’s a couple of very short videos showing the different places I put this super light set.

Two very pretty strands of battery operated lights from Home Reflections, and both have a timer. Little Izzy loved putting hers on her swing seat, and the other one looks great in the fireplace. Highly recommended. Click here to see and shop.

Hallowe’en Hunt

Vlog of the week – in deepest darkest South Croydon there were some very impressive houses decorated for Halloween last week, when I toured the streets with my lovely niece Isabella. Go here to see the vlog of the week on my Facebook page.

However, there were not that many of them, admittedly, but it was good fun dressing up and at least it meant we collected less rubbish to eat when we got back 🙂 Lara, the elder niece, preferred to stay at home and do some generous giving out from the cauldron full of sweets. (I have had a sugar thing ever since. Serves me right. Trying to drink hot water with a little lemon juice in it as an antidote 🙂 ) Took days to get the red blood off my mouth as well ha ha (okay I’m exaggerating but you get the picture.)  Hope you had a great time too.

Happy birthday Mummy

Had a lovely family get-together with all my siblings again near Dorking last weekend. Mummy’s birthday was the occasion of course, it’s that time of year again! Of course, we went to the cinema to see the Addams Family with the nieces. (As you can see in the top picture). She looks so pretty in this picture with my lovely sister I thought I would show it. Happy 76th mother and may you have many more!

Walking in Wales and big Bonfire Night fun

Had a flying trip down to Wales for a nice bonfire night, meaning bonfires, sparklers, and lovely mulled hot apple drink rather than fireworks – otherwise baby Phoebe could not have come. Big bangs are scary for a one-year-old! She is walking now, six or seven steps at a time, and is so adorable. She had a nice sleep when Lauren and I went for a long, long walk to the wildlife Centre in Cardigan, near where they live in Wales, and we had some really quality mummy and daughter time. I love my girl so much, it’s just a shame she lives such a long way away. Bradley, my son, lives nearer fortunately, in Fulham, and I get to see little Blake, nearly two-years-old, more often. She and I had some lovely fun this week as well, and she is saying so many words now. It’s lovely seeing them grow. I saw Blake on Monday after work, then drove to Wales. Good job I had some good audiobooks to read…

Watch/read – His Dark Materials. Well firstly, we read this on audiobook on the way to Devon with the nieces, then on the way back, we finished it. Philip Pullman’s masterpiece is a classic that many of you may have already read – or read to your kids. Then this week I saw that coincidentally the TV adaptation had begun on Monday on BBC.

Catch it on iPlayer, as it is a really well-made, more detailed version of the original film starring Nicole Kidman. Many people were expecting another follow-up movie but it never happened. So fingers crossed this one sees the series through. Three books ahead. Super entertainment.

Also, David Walliams – The Ice Monster. Izzy, my niece, also wanted me to mention this audiobook. Read by the great man himself, this is very entertaining and thoroughly enjoyable for youngsters. And for adults as well 🙂 It’s recommended.

The coming week’s bargains…

On Monday, Cozee Home are here with the Velvetsoft filled throw.

Tuesday, don’t miss Peony’s floral arrangement with scent stick and gift bag – perfect for Christmas.

Wednesday sees the return of Mally with the five-piece Flawless Face collection.

Thursday – the annual Hotel Chocolat extravaganza is here! Watch out for some tweet posts from my lovely colleagues for whom I left a little Hotel Chocolat challenge this week. Watch Craig and Alison Young make up their minds which one they would like.

And make sure you get yours nice and early because they are always popular and such good value.

Friday – catch Moda in Pelle with the beautiful Tanci knee-high boots.

On Friday night at 9pm, the L’Occitane six-piece Luxury Gifting Collection will be launching, but look out in the week for an early bird link when it goes on pre-sale!

Next week – the big family reunion, my cousins, my dad‘s siblings, and people we haven’t seen for years 🙂 I can’t wait.

Best wishes
