I have been ill for the past three years, just when we moved to the coast! I havnt been able to do any exercise or enjoy the beautiful beaches forests etc but hopefully I am having surgery soon and will be able to do so then. I am an avid Walker with my dog George, and my “happy” place is the beach. I just love it and feel that it just lifts all my worries and anxieties. I feel great after it. I have just started reading your books and they are brilliant. Well done you for fitting everything in. Now a completely off the scale question lol what tan do you and your colleagues use on QVC as it is always amazing looking. I am so white not getting out I need a body and possibly light face tan. I would appreciate your help. Keep up the good work love your relationship with Ruth Langsford and watch always here is to a healthy 2021

Yay, well done! I only run off-road (fields, hills, woods!) so I tend to just follow public footpath signs near where I live and they take you across fields and so on. Canal paths are good too if you prefer flat routes. Depends where you live but the Cotswolds is full of amazing running routes…good luck!

Hi Karen,
Yay, that’s great to hear! I grew up in a B&B so I know how busy that life is and I’m so glad exercise helps. Let’s keep on achieving, eh? Happy new year.

Hi Ruby
Haha, I think there’s always hope…my mum is in her 80s and has probably walked more in the last few years than ever before so I don’t think it’s ever too late. Glad to hear you enjoy running too, it’s addictive isn’t it? Agree that motivation is sometimes hard to come by though, especially at the moment. Thank you for the lovely words, good to hear from you.

Hi other Jackie!
That’s amazing, congratulations! Even more impressive if you have mobility issues. Good luck with your plans for 2021 and happy new year (a bit belated now I know!).

Hi Rosemary,
Thank you very much! I’ve been reading quite a lot too, good chance to catch up with my huge “to be read” pile!

I’m hoping to see you out on my travels! And any local route suggestions would be appreciated. (But I won’t be running in the beautiful Marc Fisher boots that you recommended! Haha!)

I go out every few days to maybe enjoy a few miles and then do a 5k or sometimes more. It’s not the first time my husband has come looking for me! I’m just trying to fit some strength training in there and need to get into a routine. Isn’t it amazing what us ladies can achieve? We run a guest house in St Andrews and it has definitely helped me with anxiety over the last year and have lost a stone in weight too. Thanks for the article.
