Hi there! Thanks for checking in with me this week. I expect by now you’ve seen that lovely Eilidh is back on our screens after her maternity leave from having her gorgeous baby boy Beau Fox. She couldn’t return though without a visit to QVC with the little man himself. I was sooooo happy to be in that day so I could meet him and have some baby cuddles. He’s ridiculously cute and a wee charmer and had everyone at work going into meltdown. Nothing like a baby in an office to make everyone go a little crazy.
I was also in on Eilidh’s first proper day at work and it took me back to when I first started coming in to do the pre-record shows for QVC Style and QVC Beauty. Ivy was the same age as Beau and it was tough leaving her but all the more exciting to get home to her after. I’m sure you’ll all agree Eilidh looks fantastic, motherhood clearly agrees with her.
This week, as I mentioned before, I have been getting on with painting our living room. I’m doing it wall by wall when I get a chance. It’s a bit ridiculous to do it that way but less disruptive to downstairs. It was the main wall behind the sofa this week which had been trashed by the kids. They like to stand in the back of the sofa and get their grubby hands all over the wall.
They are now under strict instructions that they are not allowed to do that anymore!! I have a picture that I plan to hang there too which will hopefully deter them. It’s really freshened up the room and given it a face lift which has made me look at the room with new eyes. It will look so nice and bright for spring.
I have been carrying on trying to get my long walks in. Many of you message me on my Instagram when I am out walking as I like to post little videos of the waves as I walk by the sea on my Instastories. Lots of you have spent time down my way on the south coast and it’s nice to get messages from you about where you holidayed with your families.
My walking route is about 8KM and the perfect amount of time to get my steps in. It usually clocks up around 7000 steps, sometimes I do further and get my steps done in one walk. I listen to podcasts when I walk which I really enjoy. I have actually just bought all the equipment I need to start doing my own podcast! Very excited, although I’m not sure when I am going to find the time! I may have to do them in chunks and release them as a series rather than every week. Either way I will let you know when I get it started.
Another week, another birthday. I got to celebrate twice for Rhiannon’s birthday this week. We had a lovely Sunday roast with some of her friends at the weekend as her main celebration. Then on Tuesday, which was her actual birthday, after my walk I went and joined her during her lunch break for an extra little birthday lunch. The sun was shining and her boss even organised for a gorgeous chocolate cake to be sent over after our meal which was a lovely touch.
What have I been Trying? The Big Deal – 8 Greens
8 Greens – I have mentioned previously in blogs that I have been trying out a new supplement that’s coming to QVC. Well it’s here, 8 Greens is one of our Big Deals of the Week. I have been really impressed with this supplement, it tastes great and it’s packed with good stuff. Spinach, Wheatgrass, Kale, Bluegreen Algae, Spirulina, Chlorella, Barley Grass and Aloe Vera. The goodness in each effervescent tablet is equivalent to the Vit B of 6 cups of Spinach, Vit C of 6 Oranges, Vit B5 as 15 cups of Broccoli, Vit B12 as 7 cups of milk, Zinc of 2 cups of Edamame.
Obviously things like this don’t replace your balanced diet but it’s a great way to top it up. In general I just drink it dissolved in water but I’ve started to try it in other things like smoothies. I dissolve the tablet first and then add it to my Nutribullet with lots of other great fruits and veg. I added half a pear, half an apple, handful of blueberries a squeeze of lime and a handful of spinach. You can even then dissolve it into other cooking, like sauces and soups etc. It’s a brilliant way to add extra goodness to family meals, particularly for kids.
That’s been the main surprise for me, I didn’t think my girls would touch it but they saw me making it and got excited about the tablet fizzing in the glass like a ‘bath bomb’ so asked to try it. They both LOVED it! I was quite taken aback. Ivy refuses to eat any vegetables, weirdly the only one she eats is spinach, but other than that I have to try and get fruit smoothies that have carrot juice in it just to get her to have some goodness, so I am thrilled she likes this.
Ruth Langsford Today’s Special Value – Available now!
Ruth Langsford’s range continues to go from strength to strength at QVC so we are very excited to have another fabulous Today’s Special Value from her in the form of this fab jersey shirt. It comes in six different colours and patterns so hopefully we are catering for lots of your tastes. You may even find at this offer price you may go for more than one in a print and a bold colour.
It’s a really easy wear easy care piece and buttons down to just below the bust line. It has a collar which gives it a smart vibe with tailored trousers or skirts but also quite a sporty style too for if you wanted to team it with more laidback tracksuit bottom styles. I would say the prints really lend themselves to an office environment particularly and the block colours will work everywhere and anywhere. We have them in XS through to 3XL and it’s a poly elastane.

That’s it from me, I hope you are all doing OK and not dealing with too much storm damage. We were lucky and have only had to deal with the roof felt being ripped off the shed and a few things being blown over. I know many have not been so lucky with floods. My sister had her full fence get blown down which is going to be an expensive fix.
Right I’ve got to go, I have a dentist appointment. I have decided to get Invisalign!! I’m very excited, I have my first appointment today for them to scan my teeth for the trays.
I shall let you know how it goes but as always you can keep up with me on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
Love Katy xx
