Embrace the new

The beginning of a new year doesn’t have to be all about stepping up your fitness regime and eating better. Although we’re all for those things if that’s what you choose to do, sometimes all it takes to feel fresh is to try something new. When it comes to your wardrobe, that could mean going for a bolder print, wearing a colour you tend to shy away from or rocking a statement jacket without a care.

Our latest style edit, Embrace the New, encourages you to do just that with fashion and accessories that will instantly freshen up your look. Here are some of our favourite ideas and pieces to help you get started.

Try a bold print

Thinking of dabbling with print? We’re all for it! It’s a sure way to liven up your wardrobe and there’s so many different prints to pick from, you’re bound to find one (or many!) you like. One that never seems to go out of style is animal print and on a dress like this jersey maxi from Frank Usher, it always gets our roar of approval.

The beauty of print is you can tone it down or make it even more eye-catching depending on how you style the rest of your outfit too. The above look smartens it up beautifully with this chic cream coat from Helene Berman and a statement necklace, while adding a casual edge with these Moda in Pelle trainers.

Welcome in colour

Long nights and gloomy days mean we tend to lean towards darker colours in the colder months. But it’s the start of a new year and although we’re still in the grips of winter, wearing brighter shades is a great way to shake things up. If you’re unsure, start small! Simply going for a different coloured boot than you usually would, such as these Moda in Pelle ankle boots in Teal, will do the trick.

If you’re happy to embrace more colour, then a top, jumper or jacket in a bold hue is sure to brighten your look and your day. We love this V-neck jumper, which comes in a joyful Orange Sorbet shade, as well as this jumper in the very playful Candy Pink, both from Ruth Langsford.

Step up your accessorising

Are accessories often an afterthought? Are you never sure how to tie them in with your outfit? Thoughtful accessorising is a great way to spice up a look. By choosing pieces that catch your eye, it can also be a way to show off more of your personality. Start experimenting with different designs to see what you like best, sticking to one or two statement pieces.

The Mill Bay cross-body bag From Radley is a fantastic staple accessory that will work with almost anything, so you can use it for an evening of glam or everyday casual. For jewellery, Lola Rose is the perfect place to go for contemporary designs that will breathe life into any outfit. Try layering this gorgeous semi-precious stone necklace over plain knitwear or your favourite T-shirt and you’ll know exactly what we mean!

From bright tops to fierce footwear, there’s more style to discover in our Embrace the New edit. Take a browse at the rest and have fun freshening up your look.
