Animal pictures always cheer us up, don’t they? I realised its been ages since all of mine have been here on the blog, so here’s a quick hello from everyone.

First up is Mr Moonface. My big ball of fluff, who once upon a time was a tiny fluffball and we weren’t sure whether or not he would keep his long hair, as all his siblings were short-haired. Sure enough, it stayed and his markings are just beautiful. Many people ask what breed he is but we have no idea who the father was. He was born in a stable and raised on a farm for the first few weeks of his life, his mum was a short-haired tabby, so I often wonder what his father looked like. His fur most definitely keeps him warm in this cold weather!

""

Our other cat is Sherbert, brother to Alison Young’s cat, Mouse, both born on a farm over on the Isle of Wight. He’s become quite affectionate in his old age. I say old, he’s nine-years-old, I think now. You should have heard the noise he made in the car when we went to pick him up. The farmer said to us when we arrived “Oh, hello, you must be here for the last kitten. Have a look around the farm, you’ll find him somewhere…” and there he was, curled up in a ball, fast asleep on the tractor seat – not much has changed on the sleeping front!

""

We have had a couple of goodbyes over the last few months, Myles’ hamster Domino died in 2020 and my gorgeous Beth has gone to live with the family I bought her from. With looking after my mum and then lockdown coming along, I really struggled giving her all the love and attention she deserved, so toward the end of last year I asked them if they had space for her. It was an immensely tough decision and I cried buckets over it, but it was the right thing to do. They love her as much as I do, so I knew she would be well looked after and the silver lining is that they said I could visit and ride as often as I like, so it all turned out well in the end!
