Well I was working most of Easter weekend, but I did manage to FaceTime both babies and it was lovely to see them. I had done a big parcel of goodies that I sent up to daughter Lolly in Wales, and little Phoebe loved the felt Easter basket that she wore as a hat, and some other bits and pieces like a unicorn pencil case I filled up with little fluffy cake decoration chicks! Other granddaughter, three-year-old Blake, visited a bunny in London, who apparently loved her, and she had her big parcel from me the weekend before. Thank goodness for FaceTime! At least it won’t be long now before I am able to drive to Wales and catch up with my daughter and family. Can’t wait for things to get back to normal, I’m sure you’re the same.

Well, at least we managed to celebrate my niece’s birthday with an outdoor tea party. Mind you, it was on one of the days that was absolutely freezing (see top pic)! Becky and her bubble, including my sister, managed to brave the cold, including an outside chimenea to keep the edge off the Arctic chill! Blooming lockdown birthdays.

""

500,000 volunteers!

""

Got to the Epsom grandstand this week and was confronted with this in the staffroom! What a lovely thought. So nice being a volunteer. Well done to anyone who spotted me and thank you to those who messaged when my photo appeared on the little ad break during Ant and Dec on Saturday night – thanking the jabs army team. Plus, thanks to Mike Ridley, the journalist, and hi to his wife Sue, as she watches QVC! Mike did a volunteers pull out in the Sun last weekend, and the back page featured five of my family who all help out!

""

Behind-the-scenes

""

Behind-the-scenes in the garden show special last weekend, Jilly popped up halfway through to launch the Women with Control Today’s Special Value jeans. I liked them so much I bought another three pairs! Good job I did, as they sold out early.

Take a look at the Women with Control range here on our website and look out this week for Kim & Co with the new denim jacket, see below.

""

One of my favourite denim jackets is this one though, from Denim & Co.. I wore the pink one last week and also have the blue one and the white one! 177300 – with 221 five star reviews! Now I have my eye on the yellow one… I do love some of our fashions, don’t you!?

Watch – The Mauritanian, Amazon Prime

Jodie Foster and Benedict Cumberbatch, with a Guantánamo Bay wronged-detainee defence case… superb acting, including the guy playing the alleged ‘terrorist’, Tahar Rahim (amazing). It’s very compelling. I’ve watched lots of Jodie Foster films over the years and always look out for them. Plenty of Cumberbatch ones have been good as well, but she always makes a good film. Some uncomfortable viewing, and leaves lots of questions un-answered, but really well-made, and based on true life. Well worth a watch. Eight out of ten.

Blooper

Nothing like getting the giggles on set!
