Hi

Just a quick hello from me today ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend – the weather is improving a bit by the look of it, so I hope you can get out and about and enjoy it! I have Saturday and Sunday off but I’ll be at work on Monday and it’s going to be fun because it’s Discovery Day – a chance for new customers to discover everything QVC has to offer and for regular customers to discover new brands.

""

There are a couple of things I wanted to highlight: first, Duolab, a new beauty machine/gadget which a few of us have been trialling and which is like nothing I’ve ever tried before. It’s a bit like having a skincare laboratory in your own home, which rather appealed to me as a science graduate! There’s an app which uses artificial intelligence to analyse a photo of your skin and suggest the right combination of products. Then you slot two different capsules into the machine (it’s a bit like putting pods into a coffee machine!) which then blends them while warming them to body temperature.

""

The products feel lovely on the skin and because you are making them fresh each day there’s no need for preservatives or anything which might trouble sensitive skin. It challenges the idea that you use the same skincare regime day and night because you can mix up different combinations every day, depending on what your skin needs; there’s no mess or cleaning of the machine needed and the capsules can be sent off for recycling. It’s definitely what we’d call a “considered purchase” but it feels incredibly futuristic and the technology is amazing. Abby Horne will be demonstrating this on air and everyone is quite excited about it!

On the day everything will be available on three interest-free payments (in fact, that applies all weekend!) and there’ll also be the chance for you to win over £350 worth of goodies with a fun competition. On Monday at 1pm I’ll be doing a Facebook Live on QVC’s page, giving you a peep behind the scenes and giving you a clue to an answer you’ll find on the website. Debbie will be doing a similar thing at 5pm and then Charlie will give the final clue at 7.30pm. Do join in if you can and be in with a chance of winning the prize!
