It\u2019s so hard to keep tabs on everything this year, especially because I now have my own garden, so it\u2019s like I feel the weather more deeply or something!<\/p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-107272\" src=\"https:\/\/stories.qvcuk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Michael-in-the-garden.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1536\" height=\"1412\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stories.qvcuk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Michael-in-the-garden.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/stories.qvcuk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Michael-in-the-garden-300x276.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/stories.qvcuk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Michael-in-the-garden-1024x941.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/stories.qvcuk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Michael-in-the-garden-768x706.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1536px) 100vw, 1536px\" \/>\n<p>Yes, the rain is good for plant growth, but I also want things to come into flower, and a few of my plants haven\u2019t even given me new shoots this season yet. They must be super confused. I also haven\u2019t made my mind up in terms of cutting back or letting my bulbs die naturally\u2026<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m taking a leaf out of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qvcuk.com\/richard-jackson\/garden-&amp;-leisure\/_\/N-1z141juZlfow\/c.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Richard Jackson<\/a>&#8216;s book and feeding my plants a lot this season though. I have one of his hose end sprayers on the way, to help me get the job done. I\u2019ve also been using natural grower mulch on my borders, and I like to think that I am really improving the soil. My growth is quite bountiful so far!! I\u2019ve seen lots of worms, so that is definitely a good sign. But, alas, the slugs are starting to appear on the Hosta. We were doing cardening, where people grow plants in the car. It\u2019s a little bit of a silly trend, but you can indeed put a cactus or succulent in your cupholder! They\u2019re really good for that in-between moment. Without them, I wouldn\u2019t have any flowers right now! Ellen and I went to see the irises in Kings Lynn and it was magical. Just like a painting!<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve also been experimenting, making our own Tomtato &#8211; we basically took a potato plant and a tomato plant, and Sellotaped them together.
