Hello everyone! I hope you’re all well and the festive season isn’t causing too much stress for you.

Many of you already know but I adore this time of year. Having said that, it’s just been so busy I barely know which way is up at the moment!

I seriously thank goodness for QVC for helping me to get so much of my Christmas shopping done easily. I’m almost there. Yippee!!

My mum usually comes to Chez Huntley for Christmas, but this year will be different as she’s on the move. As an ex forces family we moved around a LOT in years gone by, and many years were spent in Norfolk and Suffolk.

Mum has a strong affinity with that part of the country. One of her very good friends lives there, and, now my brother has retired from the US Air Force, he and his family have moved back there, too.

He’d lived outside of the UK for many years and hadn’t seen mum for a really long time. Mum decided she’d really like to go back there and spend some time with them, and she’s excited about returning to a place which holds many dear memories for her.

She and I recently went to view a house for her, and we made a little road trip of it. We drove up the day before to allow ourselves a bit of time together. After a little scout around the neighbourhood, we went for a lovely pub lunch before settling into our charming hotel for the night.

Next day we got up and went to my brother’s family’s home, which is only down the road from the house we were viewing. It was good to catch up with everyone before going to inspect the potential new home.

Well, the house couldn’t have been more suitable. Just perfect in every way for mum with the added benefit of a spare room for me (or any other guests, of course) to stay in when I go to visit.

After that we all went for another pub lunch which makes us sound like boozy floozies but no alcohol was consumed… oh wait, I think my brother, David, had one beer.

It was lovely to celebrate the fact that mum had found the perfect new home. It’s only a couple of hours down the road for me and I know she’ll be really happy there with her son only minutes away.

It will be a little change from having her just twenty minutes away, but then she did live in Australia for several years when I joined QVC, so I’m sure it’ll be just fine, and with that spare room at hers I’ll probably see more of her once she’s moved than I do now!

There’s been plenty of festive frolicking in the run up to Christmas. Chez Huntley is looking sparkly, twinkly and cosy all ready for Christmas. My lovely Jamie and I are two of the biggest, slushiest, soppiest folks you’ll ever meet, and we both got really excited decorating the house together when he came to stay.

Here you can see us getting in the Christmas spirit in our reindeer onesies!! This is our second Christmas as a couple but the first time we’ll actually be together on Christmas Day. We are looking forward to cooking up a vegan feast together!
