Oh dear, it does sound as though you are having a run of bad luck – I hope your little dog is okay now?
To be honest, the surgery was planned so I had time to prepare myself mentally and physically for that but the fall and subsequent damage to my arm shook me up a bit and made me realise I’m definitely not invincible.
I hope your health issues get resolved soon

With the benefit of hindsight, I should just have been a little more careful not to get my crutches caught. I could have done without the broken wrist and it has slowed my ankle recovery progress down slightly BUT getting stronger every day and each small step is one in the right direction.

I’m sorry to hear about your ankle, it sounds pretty major so no wonder you’re not walking properly yet. And you had a fall too – apparently it’s not that uncommon for people on crutches, but the cuff of my crutch got caught on my wrist which is why it fractured. I am sticking very rigidly to the instructions from my physio and wait to hear what my consultant has to say on Monday.
Everything you said to me applies to you too – one step at a time

Hi Jill
I am on the mend with both now – another two weeks in the wrist splint and hopefully good news on Monday when I get my ankle X-ray done. Then it will be about physiotherapy and rebuilding my confidence, plus learning to walk in a new way so I will need lots of positivity.

Thanks for your message – bad luck or maybe I should have taken things a bit more slowly – as you say, no option but to slow down a bit now. Things are improving every day and I always knew the ankle wasn’t a quick fix …. just hadn’t factored in the broken wrist too.
