Aiming to kick-start the new year with a fresh fitness and wellbeing plan? Whether you’ve got a specific goal in mind or are simply feeling more motivated to get your body moving, our activewear collection will help set you up for success. Let us take you through some of the highlights and get you kitted out from top to toe.
Best foot forward
We’re turning to Skechers for trainers best suited to getting active. Known for developing innovative footwear packed with clever technology designed to keep your feet comfortable and cool, Skechers has a superb range to pick from. One pair going straight to the top of our list? The GoRun Consistent trainers.
These performance trainers boast high-rebound cushioning, breathable mesh uppers and shock-absorbing outsoles, making them ideal for running in. Another sporty style perfect for getting your steps up is the GoWalk Arch Fit Glee trainer. This design is great for supporting feet as you go about your daily errands and walks, plus we love the trendy look of them!
Look to leggings
Whether you’re going for a jog around the block, planning on breaking a sweat in an exercise class or have put some time aside for an at-home yoga video, leggings are something you’re likely to reach for first. Breathable, versatile and designed to allow for plenty of movement, a good pair of leggings should be part of everyone’s activewear kit.
We’re turning to Skechers again, this time for these stretchy, high-waisted leggings from their Apparel collection. Made from the brand’s soft GoFlex fabric and featuring Four-Way Stretch technology to move with your body while maintaining their shape, along with side pockets (always handy!) and a double-layer compression waistband, they deliver on comfort as well as style.
Keep your eyes peeled too for the Flexwear leggings from Cuddl Duds, coming to QVC at the end of January. Moisture-wicking, soft and with a wide elasticated waistband for adjustability, they’re a fantastic pair for everyday and active wear.
Take it to the top
As it’s still winter, there’s always the tricky issue of finding clothing that keeps you warm (particularly to start off with), yet is still comfortable enough to work out in. We think this long-sleeved top from Skechers fits the bill perfectly. It’s breathable, stretchy and moisture-wicking, all the things we look for in a workout top. We also like the idea of using it for layering over or under another top on especially chilly days.
Speaking of chilly, Cuddl Duds has a Fleecewear top coming soon that will be ideal for adding another cosy layer if you’re out walking or running over winter. It even has useful thumb holes to help prevent the sleeves from bunching up and we’re big fans of its flattering semi-fitted style. Watch this space.
A cool way to cover up
On your way to an exercise class on a blustery day or adventuring in the great outdoors as part of your fitness plan? Then you’re going to want a coat or jacket! Depending on what you’re doing, a short, lightweight design is likely going to be your friend here, as you can use it to layer over a jumper and top and simply remove layers as you go if you start to get too warm.
This quilted puffer jacket from Centigrade is a good option that’s designed to be weather-resistant, comes in an easy-to-wear short style and we just love the gorgeous Soft Blue, Silver Grey, Khaki and Beige colour options.
If you don’t want to be quite so covered up, then the Midnight puffer vest from Skechers is a fabulous alternative that will help to keep your core warm while giving your arms more freedom of movement.
