A big birthday for my lad, and sneaky peaks!

Had a super lunch and an afternoon with Brad, who was 35 on Tuesday, and his lovely family. We went for lunch in the Aragon House restaurant opposite Parsons Green, and Kaleb woke up and was super happy after he’d had his lunch! It was a lovely, lovely family occasion and I enjoyed it a lot. Had lots of cuddles too!

Brad went back to work, and I went off to pick up Blake as normal. It was raining but that did not stop her having fun – instead of the playground this time, she found quite a deep puddle and enjoyed splashing through it, in a very controlled way… Or not as the case maybe! She is hilarious. 🙂

We ended with a little supper and I read Blake a new book I had bought her, David Walliams’ Marmalade the Orange Panda! She loved it. 🙂 A good day was had by all, but now my son is nearer 70 than birth… That’s scary!! But my sister found this picture of him as a baby, he is on the left and I can tell you  little Kaleb looks something like him for sure! He is not a social media baby, so I can’t show you his face but to take it from me it’s true!

RIP Tova

As you may have seen on some of our our social media and indeed on the posts of the accounts of the lady herself, our dear friend and lovely guest, Tova Borgnine sadly passed away in her sleep last Saturday night. She will be missed, her charm, her elegance, her joie de vivre – everything. The range will be continuing, more news on that later, as she would have loved it to. But one of my best memories is how cheeky she was, especially of her really wicked sense of humour and I remember going to the Dorchester years ago to meet her for afternoon tea with my friend and she was the picture of elegance and kept us laughing for ages.

Rest in peace Tova, we love you.

New megasize Gradual Tan from Gatineau

This week Andrew Bagley was very excited and posted this:

Introducing the megasize Golden Glow Gradual Tan! Our much loved moisturiser is available in a HUGE 1 litre @qvcuk !

Get a fabulous natural golden glow whilst deeply hydrating your skin ☀️ A single one-litre, WORTH £64, NOW £49.95 or 3 easy payments of £16.65!

This is one of the best gradual faux tans I think we have ever done. So snap it up while it is in such a big size and on such a great saving!

Litter pickers

I’m now a director of our block of flats, and I helped out with a bit of a litter pick after the storm. We got two big bags, me and my neighbour Karen. I used one of the grabbers that Anne Dorrington sold to me awhile back from QVC! It’s brilliant! And it was lovely to spend a day in the sunshine. It was one of the beautiful days last weekend, and with what’s going on in the world, it just makes you grateful to be out in the fresh air with a bit of sun on your face, doesn’t it?!

Watch

It has to be a cinema fest soon for me, because not only is Jim Broadbent back with Helen Mirren in the amazing The Duke, the story of a hero standing up for what he thinks is right, but also Cyrano, up for lots of awards. The story of Cyrano de Bergerac brought up to date replacing one unusual aspect of appearance for another, with the diminutive actor, Peter Dinklage, playing Cyrano. I must confess a personal interest as my niece Becky worked on the hair and make-up and they were nominated for a Bafta.

PS. I’m particularly excited about next week’s viewing because Outlander returns on the 6th March!

Blooper

Who knew Alison Young could have this effect on people!

Podcast

Did you hear Will’s chat this week with Jo Behari? Next week, he will be paying a special tribute to Tova. You can listen to all the podcasts here.

Vlog

Another one from when I was out with Blake! She is so funny! And don’t forget to follow me on social media for updates and early warnings about excellent deals coming up on QVC! My social media links are all below. 🙂

Book of the week – Watermelon by Marian Keyes

I must admit, I have still been bathing in the aftermath of the excellent novel called Again, Rachel. So I thought I would pick up with another of her earlier books, following the lives of a different Walsh sister, this time Claire. It’s written in first person and has some very funny turns of phrase, about a woman getting older who is left by her husband and the trials and tribulations that follow on the path to true love afterwards. There are lots of great new books out nowadays and I’m having fun choosing. I have just begun the next Joy Ellis book, Jackman and Marie Evans. They always hook me in straight away so look out for more about The Disappeared next week!
