It’s finally here: Brenda Edwards‘ brand new fashion collection, BeU, has arrived! Chock full of iconic, bold pieces, including gorgeous jumpsuits and standout separates, this stylish collection has been designed with inclusivity in mind so you can look and feel amazing every day.

We recently caught up with Brenda to find out more about the fabulous collection and the inspirational woman herself.

Hi Brenda, we’re so excited about the launch of BeU! What can we expect from the collection?

‘You can expect lots of bold, beautiful prints and bright, vibrant colours. Every piece in this collection was designed to make you feel as good in yourself as you will look wearing them.’

What has surprised you about the process of creating your own fashion range?

‘I’ve learnt a lot about how much work goes into the material and colour choices, and even the process of making my own prints! I was surprised to learn that different types of materials are better suited to different types of clothing and that certain materials can make two designs look totally different. This collection has been two years in the making so the lead in time was also a huge surprise.’

What are some of the core messages you have tried to communicate with your range?

‘I want women to feel that they can be adventurous with their clothing and never restrict themselves. Everyone should feel confident in their bodies and know that they look good while also feeling comfortable in what they’re wearing. The pieces in my collection aren’t restrictive and look great no matter your shape or size. I put a lot of myself into each piece, so when you wear them I want you to feel that you can truly Be U!’

What excites you about spring fashion?

‘I love spring fashion because you can really experiment with colour and vibrant prints. We have used a range of lightweight materials in this collection that will blow and flutter in the spring air and truly put a spring in your step!’

What are you looking forward to in 2023?

‘I can’t wait to see women walking down the street wearing clothes from my collection, seeing that they look amazing and knowing that they feel it too. I’m also looking forward to continuing to work on the range while getting feedback from customers – with them at the heart of the collection it can keep growing and evolving.’

Thanks so much Brenda! We can’t wait to see more fabulous styles from you in the future.

Come spring, summer, autumn, or winter, a stylish and weather-appropriate jacket is an essential in your wardrobe. Whether you throw one on for warmth or to tie your look together, the importance of this staple layer can’t be ignored.

With help from QVC stylist Laura Johnson, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite jackets for the season, alongside our tips on how to best style them. From denim to bold colours, casual to smart, read on for our essential style guide for this season’s must-have jackets.

A splash of pink

Spring and summer styling is all about bold, bright hues that make you feel good. Whether you prefer to go all out with colour coordination or keep to one staple pop of colour, a bright jacket is the perfect place to start. We’re currently loving Ruth Langsford’s Twill Denim Style Jacket in bold, berry pink. Stylish and vibrant, it’s the perfect way to give your look a focal point and show everyone that you’re rocking spring shades.

Laura suggests… ‘picking one colour- in this case berry pink, and staying tonal with the rest of your look is simple yet effective. Don’t be afraid to play with colour and go overboard!‘  Layered over this Hot Pink Cable Knit Vest from Crystal Kobe and the Burgundy Luxe Crepe Hollywood Trousers from WynneLayers, your pink-toned look is almost complete.

Staying with the playful tonal theme, anything other than these Fuchsia Moda In Pelle Chrissi Slingback Sandals feels wrong. Metallic and fun, what could go better with this spring-ready outfit? The classic Hero Croc Leather Tote Bag from Ruth Langsford is a gorgeous way to add some colourful contrast (we’ve chosen the Burgundy one, of course), and to finish the look with some sparkle, the Kiss Milgrain Sterling Silver Hoop Earrings from Diamonique certainly fit the bill.

The staple denim jacket

Every wardrobe needs a classic denim jacket – they’re a must-have transitional piece for your arsenal and truly go with everything. Laura says… ‘denim jackets are super casual yet stylish, and you can really experiment with what you wear them with. Paired with bold colour underneath or something muted, a simple and casual yet effortlessly chic look is guaranteed.’

The classic blue denim jacket from Ruth Langsford

We’ve teamed this gorgeous Ruth Langsford Denim Jacket in Dark Indigo with a bright Nina Leonard Moss knit two-piece. Bright colour comes into play again here, as the eye-catching mustard yellow pairs with the deep blue of denim to create a gorgeous spring colour palette.

We’ve put it all together with the super-casual and fun Dune Energised Lightening Bolt Trainers in Dalmation, but you could easily dress it up with some neutral boots. We’ve also gone tonal with the Dusty Blue Huntington Leather Hobo Bag from Ben de Lisi, boasting a denim blue hue which ties the look together beautifully, as well as a fun gold-toned Sentiment Multi Heart Charm Necklace from Bibi Bijoux to add some bling.

A comfy, casual look

For spring, we’re all about soft and relaxed looks that not only feel great on but have an effortlessly stylish finish too. This Khaki Bomber Jacket from Ruth Langsford is the perfect example of a relaxed, neutral look, boasting faux suede and faux leather accents in an earthy hue that work to elevate your outfit while keeping it super wearable. We’ve paired it with a range of neutrally toned pieces, like these super wearable Deep Turn Up Cuff Trousers in Stone and a Comfort Hoodie in Grey, both from Ben De Lisi, which help to give it a sporty, casual finish. Laura says… ‘going neutral with your look helps to give a really relaxed feel, and this khaki jacket is the perfect way to tie it all together. Pairing it with a hoodie and trainers also ties in with the current sport-luxe trend which is effortless yet super stylish.

Accessorise with an effortlessly glam 9 carat gold Diamond and Emerald Panther Ring to match the earthy tones within the pieces, and the super comfortable Skechers Uno Metallic Trimmed Trainers to further the ‘just left the gym’ look, we can’t think of a better fit for spending those casual days when you want to look as good as you feel.

The bold, edgy jacket

Ready to paint the town red? Nothing says edgy-chic better than a biker jacket, and this gorgeous Burgundy Suedette one from Ruth Langsford is the perfect example. We love the exaggerated lapels and zip details, and there’s no ignoring the stunning red hue it boasts. We’ve paired this gorgeous jacket with the equally vivid and equally fabulous Mya Jersey Midi Dress in Pink Animal from Finery, which features a bold all-over print in a striking pink shade.

Laura says…‘this look is all about standing out and having fun! Colour clashing with shades in the same colour family is a great way to bring some fun and intrigue to your look, especially when your styles clash too. Instead of finishing this dress off with a cardigan, throwing on the biker jacket will add some edge, which can be further amplified with your accessories.’

To keep up with the bold colour theme, we’ve added the JM by Julien Macdonald Mini Icon Leather Tote Bag in a bright and eye-catching Red and kept it tonal with a pair of Burgundy Leather Platform Ankle Boots from Ruth Langford – we love the leather finishes from these accessories.

Tonal elegance

Playing into the neutral tones trend is this gorgeous Sand Denim Jacket from Denim & Co, which perfectly encapsulates spring and summer transitional styling with its soft hues and wearable design. Worn with the Short Sleeve Jumpsuit in Camel from Crystal Kobe, it’s in keeping with the neutrality of the jacket. And why not match your accessories, too? We’ve added these ultra-trendy retro-style Fitover Juliette Sunglasses in Mocha from JPE, as well as gold-toned jewellery which carries on the earthy tones of the look.

To finish the look, we’ve opted for a pair of Light Grey Snake Print Clogs from BOnova for a touch of something different.  Laura says… ‘adding the pop of snake print shows how one bit of print in an otherwise tonal look can really elevate it. Playing with prints and plain fabrics is a fabulous way to bring intrigue and fun to your spring looks, and this neutral denim jacket facilitates this excellently.’

Classic double denim

Nothing’s quite as playful and fun as double denim, so how could we not include this gorgeous Mid-Wash Button Front Denim Jacket from Ben De Lisi? This fabulous piece boasts a chic swing shape and offers a completely different way to style your jacket. Laura says… ‘don’t always feel like you have to wear your jacket as a final layer, instead why not try doing your jacket up and wearing it as a top? Displaying interesting buttons and stylish necklines are just some of the pros, but, especially with this swing jacket, it’s a great way to introduce different shapes to your look!’

We’ve paired this jacket with some Indigo Straight-Leg Jeans from Ruth Langsford. Trying double denim is all about experimenting with different shades and seeing what suits you, so have fun mixing and matching and adding depth and definition to the look.

The adorable London Magic Is Everywhere Multiway Bag from Radley also ties it together gorgeously, and what better way to finish a casual look than with a versatile pair of trainers? We chose a Light Grey pair of Essence Winny Lace-Ups from Vionic.
