Kirsty Raynor: "small changes are the best way to build strength"Kirsty Raynor is the founder of Burn Strength Yoga (BSY) and creator of online community The Confidence Club, with a mission to help people feel empowered, confident and full of self-love. She reveals her own journey, and how small changes can help build inner strength.

Firstly, I am so glad you are here reading this. It means so much to me. I want to let you in to a little secret that you might not know… everything you need to feel confident is inside you right now, exactly as you are in this moment. Don’t believe me? By the end of this article you will, I promise you.

I am a Yoga teacher by trade and I have spent the last four years watching people hide away in the corner of the studio not wanting to make eye contact, not even wanting to say their name because they felt embarrassed to be there. I have met people who have said “oh I can’t come to Yoga, I’m not flexible enough”, and in that line is everything that is wrong with the way we are being made to feel about our mind, body and soul.

Yes, I feel exhausted, yes I look like I haven’t slept in 74 days, yes I have my jumper on inside-out but yes I accept this

I founded BSY (Burn Strength Yoga) to change the mould, to show everyone who came into contact with me that we all deserve to live our life feeling confident in every decision we make and action that we take. I am creating a community called The Confidence Club full of like-minded people all on a journey together. The brand is only just over a year old and even in this short time I have become so much more aware of the internal journey and struggle trying to be confident can sometimes elicit – how are am I supposed to be positive all the time? Am I failing if I’m not?

Please let me reassure you that, no you are not. All we need to do is take a look at the world we live in – in order to create harmony everything is in balance: the night with the day, the yin with the yang, the highs with the lows.

Part of the process is learning how to accept all of your emotions and having confidence in them. Yes, I feel exhausted, yes I look like I haven’t slept in 74 days, yes I have my jumper on inside-out, but yes I accept this and I am confident in who I am, and who I am going to be. Mic drop.

My daily tip to changing even a tiny bit of how you perceive yourself and your life, is to write down one thing you are grateful for everyday. And also – treat yourself, you deserve it! Have a bubble bath, do a facemask, buy that indulgent face cream and candles, and truly give yourself time to indulge.

If you only take one thing away from this piece I want you to remember that there is nobody else like you in the universe. How amazing is that!
