Upgrade your at-home workouts

Over the last year or so, working out at home has become a part of many of our routines. Whether it’s a jog round the park, getting your zen on in the living room or hitting your PB deadlift in the garage, we’re all looking for new ways to keep fit, without having to stray too far from home. But sometimes you can lose motivation and fall into the dreaded rut. Luckily, we’re here to help. From discovering a new workout to adding some oomph to your existing routine, we’ve got all the gear you need to take your workout to a new level.

Cardio

The weather is starting to turn now, meaning your favourite walks may not be as fun as they were in the summer. Rain, wind and cold temperatures can leave the motivation flagging! We’ll be taking our cardio inside this season, with equipment like the Davina Fitness Folding Magnetic Exercise Bike. While getting fresh air is great for your wellbeing, setting up an exercise bike in front of the TV is an ideal way to get in a longer session. Plus, why not catch up on your favourite autumnal TV dramas while you’re at it? Before you know, an hour will have passed and you’ll be feeling fabulous.

Toning

Resistance training and lifting weights are certainly popular workouts at the gym. Did you know you can achieve the same results from the comfort of home? Yep! You don’t need a ton of bulky equipment to create your own toning routine. The Davina Fitness Dumbbell Set neatly displays your weights, so you can see exactly what you need before commencing on bicep curls, chest or shoulder presses, while the Ankle and Wrist Weights will add some extra impact to HIIT or aerobics.

The Ex-Belt Resistance Band Belt is also great for tailoring your squats, lunges and more, offering variable resistance so you can make your workout as challenging as you want! Combining cardio with toning is the Orbitrek X17 Multi Path Trainer, which works to replicate the movements of a cross trainer, bike, treadmill, stepper and climbing machine, all in one go! Plus, with 17 different burn paths, it’s always an interesting ride that never gets dull.

Yoga and Pilates

Need a little namaste after a long day? We’ve got you! Yoga and Pilates are not only great for working and stretching your muscles, they’re great options for when destressing and relaxing too. Whether you’re learning from video tutorials or freestyling, the Davina Fitness Yoga Mat is great for making sure your at-home practice is slip-free and comfortable (plus, it even comes with a Swiss ball for more challenging core workouts!)

If Pilates is more your thing, then you will love the AeroPilates Reformer. There’s an exercise to work every part of your body, as shown on the two included DVDs, and the foldable design means you can easily pack everything away once you’re done.

Stretching

After a workout, or even a day in an office chair, a little stretch session can do absolute wonders, helping to temporarily relieve tension in the muscles while aiding your wind-down period. If laying back and relaxing is on the cards, the Homedics Stretch Plus Back Stretching Mat with Truheat does all the work for you, helping to move your body into different positions and giving you a nice stretch in the process.

For something a little deeper, we love the Tili Body & Soul Acupressure Mat. It might seem a little scary at first, but once you’re used to the sensation, this mat is the perfect way to soothe tired muscles.
