Back from a couple of days off, most of which was spent still raking up the beautiful if not everlasting blanket of falling leaves, the likes of which always brings back such lovely childhood memories. It’s hard to believe this photo of me was taken nearly 60 years ago! No matter our age, I’m sure we all remember the joy of putting on our wellies and kicking through piles of leaves… of course with the arrival of autumn comes Halloween which has really grown in popularity here in the UK.
When I was at school Halloween consisted of “apple bobbing” (search it in your browser) and perhaps making a witches hat. However, when our two were younger it had grown (probably due to the film) and they loved getting dressed up with their local friends to go knocking on neighbours doors and then coming home to share out all the goodies amongst each other. It was of course a little different this year, so we did a smaller display and left wrapped treats outside in a dish rather than invite children to the door. It was lovely to hear their excitement as they approached, a touch of near normality for them.
Unfortunately, alongside Halloween came fireworks. Toby now being hard-of-hearing was oblivious to it all, but poor Ellie suffered terribly. She only gets some relief by sitting on our laps, wrapped in a blanket, having her ears massaged!
For all you many Elemis fans out there I hope you have managed to get your pre-orders in already, prior to the official Today’s Special Value (TSV) launch this weekend. It’s truly amazing value as the Pro-Collagen Marine Cream alone would cost more than the whole eight pieces and don’t forget there’s Buy More, Save More, whatever options you decide to go for and… oh yes! Don’t forget the four interest-free instalments (Easy Pays) as well. I made a short, fun video for you – click the link below to order yours or to find out more about the amazing offer 🙂
Take a closer look here: Pro-Collagen Skincare Spectacular Gift Collection.
I’ll be joined by wonderful Elemis experts Christina and Grace in the studio, and with my exfoliatingly knowledgeable friend Keeley via Skype video at 3pm on Sunday for our Beauty Gift Ideas show, followed by affordable luxury accessories from Frank Usher at 4pm. Saturday brings lots of other Christmas ideas for you as well and I would love you to join myself and Gill Gauntlet at 3pm for an hour show with ideas for your Christmas Garden, followed by an exquisite hour of Peony faux flowers with the lovely Julie Bates.
Just as the colder, dark nights set in, on Monday 9th we have a great Today’s Special Value (TSV) from Cozee Home and it might be one to share as it comprises two four-piece Embossed Velvesoft & Faux Mink Duvet Sets. So I hope you can join me at 6pm with guest Debra Leigh, followed at 7pm for a one hour Andi Peters Food Fest. “Why just one hour Dale?” I hear you ask. Well… it’s only an hour on Monday as we are bracing ourselves for next Thursday’s (12th November) fantastic Festive Food Event at The Q – Andi and I will be with you for an hour at 2pm and again for two hours at 6pm, showcasing a wonderful TSV from esteemed British chocolatiers Hotel Chocolat, which goes on pre-sell Monday! More details of which I will give you in my next blog 🙂
Until then, keep smiling and more importantly well…
