Well, it’s time for me to say a very happy Christmas to you, and as I write, I’m still sitting at QVC late after my shift, still writing out Christmas cards! One day, I will get my act together… It’s not this year! Hopefully by the time you read this you will have everything under control and sorted out.
I celebrated the week with a couple of little meet-ups, including seeing my very good friend Gill, and we exchanged presents in a very hurried, ventilated trip at Costa Coffee in Surbiton! We vowed to do some lovely trips to unusual places in 2022.
I did not end up going to the theatre last week, as I mentioned I think, but I have planned some lovely stuff between Christmas and New Year, see below. Also enjoyed seeing my son for a spot of last minute shopping before they went to his in-laws for Christmas this year. And Lolly Pop arrives late on the 23rd for ours in Surrey!
Snippets
Kaleb and me
My little grandson is so funny, obviously I can’t show you him on social media, because he is not a social media baby. But it was so lovely to see him and he was making little “agoo” noises. He is still utterly surprised by everything including his own selfie when you try to video him! I do hope he has the most wonderful first Christmas, not that he will remember it, and I will really look forward to next year when he’s with me!
Daisy dog
Dropped off some presents with my sister-in-law Amanda and saw little Evie and Beau as well. So nice to see my lovely Daisy dog, or should I say Amanda’s Daisy dog! She is well at home and very happy and of course kept company by the little puppy called Beau. I didn’t really do house visits as such, no cups of tea and all flying trips, for obvious reasons. But it was lovely to have a little walk in the fresh air with my doggie.
Deb’s hair
Tried a new style this week, using the Dyson Corrale straightener. I really like it. A bit more trendy than the curly whirly, don’t you think?! We have some super hair styling products so if you want to get yours in good nick for the New Year, go here to our hair styling tools, and go here for all of our wonderful Philip Kingsley products, which I was using on that day!
Watch
It has to be The Matrix, doesn’t it? The fourth movie, Resurrection, is out in the cinema and I’ve booked myself a little film fest on 28th, the day after the kids go back and I get my place back to myself again. I may feel like locking myself away and not having to do anything other than soak up some brilliant movies! The Kingsman is also out the same day, so I’ve booked both of them! I will report back next week.
Meanwhile, as far as Christmas TV goes, how about the documentary about the late Prince Philip on ITV last week, or maybe yet another Christmas film! But your turn, if you have any recommendations, just leave me a comment below.
Podcast
Just quickly to mention, make sure you listen to Alex Kramer’s podcast with Will – she has done so much! A really interesting, diverse, chequered history is revealed, you learn so much about your friends and colleagues when you listen to these! And well done well for making it to over 100 episodes. Looking forward to 2022! The new one will be with Kate Stephens, CEO of Smartworks, a charity set up to help women build their confidence, get the job and transform their lives.
Vlog
Misty woods last week in Banstead! What’s it been like where you are? Fingers crossed it’s not too chilly over Christmas! Don’t forget to follow me on my social media to see all the updates and behind-the-scenes videos. 🙂
Book of the week – Will by Will Smith
If you get some Christmas money and want a brilliant book to read, I highly recommend Will, the autobiography by this famous rapper/movie star/all round good guy. I’m absolutely loving the audiobook where he includes some of his music and clips from his TV show the fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
Don’t be fooled into thinking this is just a smooth sailing journey for this mega star. He had a lot of downs, especially in the early days. It’s peppered with self-help observations too, and is a really, really good book for anyone who is feeling a little bit low, I think. I have bought it for a couple of friends, my son loves it, and I’ve been telling people about it – always the sign of a good book! Really funny as well in places. Highly recommended! And a strong contender for my book of the year!

Hi Debbie – hope you had a lovely Christmas break with your family.
I wondered if you had tried the YourZookie flavours, and which one you liked best? I got the Citrus auto delivery last year, but wasn’t mad keen on the flavour so wanted to check whether the others tasted more like their descriptions.
Thank you, and best wishes for the New Year!
