Summer travels

Hello. Sorry I’ve been a bit quiet on here. We have been doing quite a bit of travelling about now it’s officially summertime.

We popped down to see my brother in Falmouth, Cornwall. It’s so beautiful there. We managed to get a cottage with a pool which the kids loved. And we visited various places like St Ives for some beautiful beach time. We took a little boat out too which was fun, but noisy!

Josh turned six so we visited London Zoo for the day. It was very quiet and they have worked hard on various routes for you to follow so you feel very safe with the old social distancing.

We also popped to Suffolk to see some friends and the kids bravely went in the sea! Not for me! I don’t like swimming in the sea – can’t see the bottom and what lurks underneath!

The kids went on the arcades – there was a Virtual Reality ride which they loved. It’s amazing how technology is advancing – they’ll all probably have these in their homes when they’re older! Crazy!

August means new Picks of the Month here at the Q

We have a Beauty Pick of the Month from IT Cosmetics, a supersize of their CC Cream, full coverage but really lightweight and has an SPF of 50+, so perfect for this time of year with the sunshine we’re having!

We also have a Supersize of the Month from Judith Williams. Her Retinol Science One a Day Capsules, in a pot of 60!

The Diamonique Design this month are these really pretty simulated gemstone hoop earrings.

And we have a Gardening pick too, The Autumn Winter display from Thompson & Morgan.

Some things that I’ve spotted at work this month that I love are these gorgeous tote bags from Radley. The Be Yourself  and Have a Sparkly Day designs.

Also this gorgeous dress from Together in Zebra, which I know sounds wacky, but it’s more of a geometric – I’ve ordered one!

We also have an amazing TSV on the way from Tarte – it’s a 6 piece collection and you can grab it early! You get a foundation and application brush, mascara, eyeshadow palette, eyebrow pencil and a juicy lip! £46 plus p&P! Grab yours quickly! There’s also an Auto Delivery option!

There’s a brand new podcast on our website for you to check out, it’s with the lovely Margaret Dabbs.

Right must crack on with the mountain of laundry! It never ends!

  1. Hi Alex first your children are beautiful and glad you all enjoyed your trip to Falmouth in Cornwall my sister lives down that way and yes is stunning there, always loved my visits there.

On QVC recently you have been wearing a red necklace, I think its beautiful, I would love to know where you got it, it suits your skin tone so well and goes with everything you.
Its great watching you and Gok together you’r both so funny.

    1. Hello! Thank you for your lovely comments ☺️ The necklace was a birthday present from Scott it’s from a company called golden mantras on Instagram xx

  2. Hi Alex, just enjoying watching the Percy & Reed show.

Heard you mention Keratin treatment and that you have had it done. Can I just say your hair looks so smooth and love the colour.

Can you let me know where you had the Keratin treatment done. I have had it done in a local salon but did not come out as smooth and my hair still looked normal.

    Thanks

    1. Hello! Thank you 😊 I also had keratin treatment at a local salon but it was a while ago.
I think sometimes it’s best to go to a salon that specialises in it and pay a little more as a bad treatment can damage your hair with the strong chemicals and heat applied. Maybe give your hair a couple of months and then try again. In the meantime elasticizer will make your hair soft and we have a new brand coming to Qvc soon which strengthens the hair!!! So keep a look out 😉 xx

  3. Hi Alex
I loved the dress that Aimee Burrows was wearing too, did you manage to find out where she got it from.
    Many thanks
