It’s beginning to look a “little” like Christmas!!

Hey everyone,

I hope you’re all well. Now this blog title could refer to a lot of things at the moment but for me it’s fairly specific. Do you remember my blog several weeks ago saying how I was going to be totally organised by the 15th of December? Well I failed… drastically! 😞

Every single present was bought before the end of November, but alas, not one has been wrapped and here we are on the 23rd!! (That’ll teach me to brag on air about how I was totally on it this year). I write this blog nearly on my knees with exhaustion… honestly!!

My lists have so many subcategories I gave up in the end at the supermarket this morning! I know I’ve got a turkey, I’ll also be doing the stuffing, pigs in blankets etc., but no Christmas pudding 😩😩😩. Everywhere has sold out but I will try again tomorrow. Listen… not a problem, we’re certainly not going to starve (not judging by the bill anyway 🙄).

What time did I go to bed last night? 1.15am… what time did I get up? 2.45am!! I’ve got so much going on at the moment (and I know everyone is in the same boat), but I was just lying there, brain going 100mph, so I decided to just get up and get on with things. I’ve cleaned the house from top to bottom, done my food shop… which only took about four hours!!! Queues at 7am? Really?? Now it’s lunchtime so I’m about to have a bite to eat, a cheeky mince pie, and then hit the hay for a couple of hours!! I’ve still got a mountain of wrapping to do but since I won’t be seeing the majority of family until later, I might cheat and wrap just what I need to 😉.

Still… my poinsettia is looking happy (see photo above). It just wouldn’t be Christmas without one! I love them and I remember one year mine lasting until Easter. I was very impressed (so was Richard Jackson 😃).

Ah well, there’s always next year… maybe I’ll be more organised (don’t hold your breath)!!

All that remains for me is to wish you all a happy, healthy and peaceful Christmas, and let’s pray that 2021 is kinder to us all!! I’m not usually a fan of New Year but I think a lot of us will be pleased to get 2020 out of the way!!

Sending love and Christmas hugs.

Take care and stay safe everyone,

Anne 🎄🎄🎄 xxx

  1. You’ll get there, Anne! Lovely blog to read, I’m glad someone else thought they were totally organised and then it didn’t quite come together! I was doing really well until contracting COVID three weeks ago. It really is a horrible virus – we’re both just starting to feel better in the mornings, but return to total exhaustion in the afternoon. Scuppered my final Christmas preparations, but as it’s going to be a very quiet one for us all now, I’m sure we’ll survive. Then we all need to raise a glass to happier times in 2021 when we will hopefully be able to see our families again. Stay safe and well, lots of love xxx
