The great indoors

Hey everyone! Hope you’re all well and dandy!!

It may seem a bit of a strange blog title given that much of the country is basking in sunshine and soaring temperatures, but what I’ll be writing about concerns mainly what we do indoors… cleaning (new Shark Today’s Special Value coming up Friday), make-up (some great Doll 10 shows at the weekend) and cooking, several of you have requested the recipe for my “spaghetti verde” (literally just made that name up right now, but “green spaghetti” certainly fits the image).

However, looking fabulous and having the home looking fabulous too is something that we all wish for… so maybe we can help with that too!! We have a Got To Have It event on Monday that has already kicked off online. Everything from beauty, fashion to looking after the home too!

So, backing up first of all with the cleaning. We’ve brought you many a Shark Today’s Special Value (TSV) in the past, and that’s for the very good reason that these machines are incredible and highly rated by so many of you. Next up, as much as we all love Doris of Doll 10, we certainly adore her products too. I’ve included an image of my own faves but I’m certainly excited to be seeing what she’ll have in store. I think the main reason I love the range is because all of her products from her foundations to her lipsticks are so very easy to apply. There are no tricky techniques to be concerned with, which is especially a blessing in my case as I have the attention span and patience level of a gnat (by the way I have no idea as to the biological accuracy of that statement… so no corrections please 😀).

My current Doll 10 faves are:

HydraLux Foundation and Smoothing Concealer (I wear the light shade if that helps) and the Master Palette. So easy!!

And now to my recipe. I would love to make this sound complex and highly skilled but the truth is, it is so simple even the most novice cook in the kitchen will be able to master it.

Ingredients:

• 500g spaghetti
• 2 packs long stemmed broccoli
• 4 cloves crushed garlic
• olive oil and a knob of butter or margarine
• Juice of half a lemon
• Handful of chopped fresh flat parsley
• Salt and pepper

Method:

• Cook the spaghetti according to the packet instructions at the same time as steaming the broccoli
• In a large pan (see photo) heat the oil and butter and cook the garlic for about 30 seconds
• Add the steamed broccoli and cook for a couple more minutes (I like mine with a bit of a bite to it… but your choice)
• Chop up the broccoli in the pan to smaller pieces and add the salt and pepper
• Then add half of the parsley along with the lemon juice
• Stir through and finish with sprinkling over the remainder of the parsley

Serve with a good quality grated parmesan and some garlic bread… fabuloso!! 😋

Finally, you can get all dressed up whether you’ve got anywhere to go or not with our Got To Have It event on Monday. Some of the biggest names in our QVC fashion wardrobe will be displaying some of this season’s newest and greatest looks, as well as favourite classics. But like I said earlier it’s not just fashion in our Got To Have It event, the “it” could be in beauty, fashion or even the home!! So you don’t want to miss out on that one!

My advice would be to kick back, grab a bowl of that ”Spaghetti Verde” (the name is official now), switch on the TV and join us for a little bit of the ‘Great Indoors’ here at QVC!!
