Auntie Gok is back!

Well, there’s certainly been lots of excitement in the fashion department of QVC lately! We have so many big fashion brands and stylish experts on board and I think everyone’s embracing the idea of getting ready to get out of those PJs and back out into the world. Albeit carefully and one step at a time.

I’m writing this on Monday as it has to be submitted to my lovely copywriter, Laura, today ready for posting on Wednesday. Oh, and on that subject, our copywriters are really stretched right now so we’ve been asked to keep our blogs to one per fortnight for the time being. Just in case you wondered why I wasn’t doing a weekly one after I announced my intention to do so. Besides, it has been said you can have too much of a good thing, ha ha!

By the time you read this I’ll have already had my first ever Dannii Minogue fashion show! I’m really looking forward to it! Those of us who have been a part of her launch team have had to keep a lid on the news for a while now, but we’ve had emails and meetings galore.

We had a wonderful video call with Dannii. Well, it was wonderful to see her, but goodness knows what everyone thought about me and my cats!! It was on my day off, so I was having to take part from home. Time was 8.30am which is when my Bowie and Ziggy are at their liveliest. I tried putting them in another room, but they meow remarkably loudly when separated from me, so I thought the best thing was to be in the same room as them, armed with cat treats and hope for the best! They climbed over me, ran around the furniture like little monkeys, knocked my camera over more than a few times and the highlight was when they managed to press the button on my hot water dispenser (the Breville ‘one touch’ from QVC)! I suddenly heard it heating up and ran across the room realising boiling water was seconds away from pouring out onto the worktop and, possibly, the cats! Eek! Luckily, Dannii was very chilled and gracious but I was beetroot red and sweating nervously.

There’s been such a buzz about Dannii’s clothing and Diamonique ranges. My new favourites are these stunning hoops! I want to wear them with everything! Just what I’ve been looking for.

Another fashion fave is our dear ‘Auntie Gok’. What an absolute sweetheart he is. The main photo was taken when I first worked with Gok. A good length of time and dress sizes ago! What I love about Gok is that he really cares about how we feel in our clothes and he understands what it’s like to have body issues. Even if they’re only in our heads they can be quite demoralising. Gok has had his own struggles in his life and I think that helps him to empathise, so he works at bringing out the best of us with his collection. I always feel fabulous in his clothes.

I have a show coming up on Friday at 6pm for his WULI:LUU collection. I hope you can join us for some feel-good fashion and start to be enthused about the prospect of getting all dressed up with somewhere to go in the not too distant future!

Now, if you’re not into fashion but gardening is your thing then you’re in for a treat this coming weekend. We’ve got loads of fantastic shows to get your garden ready for spring, summer and beyond.

On Saturday I’ll be with lovely Richard Jackson at noon followed by an hour of tools for the home and garden. Sunday at 11am we’re featuring a whole hour of Plants2Gardens, which will have something for everyone, particularly great for beginners as plants are more established and can go pretty much straight into your garden or pots. Richard, or Dickie J as I’ve affectionately called him for years, re-joins me at midday and then at 2pm it’s all about growing your own with ‘Grow, Eat, Love’.

Ooh and don’t forget we’ve got the latest L’Occitane Today’s Special Value offer launching Friday at 9pm. You’re not going to want to miss this. I’m looking forward to an hour with Alexis on Saturday at 11am. It’s an incredible, and very different, TSV offer!

I must dash but I’m hoping you’re all keeping well and safe. Sending big virtual hugs to you all.

Lots of love,

Catherine xx

  1. Hi Catherine,
Just switched over to see you with Dickie J’s Garden Show. Hubby looked up & said you remind him of Velma from Scooby Doo so said I’d share it with you!
    Keep making us laugh

    Mandy 🙂
