Happy New Year!

The most unimaginative blog title award goes to… meeeee! Still, I wish you and yours as happy and healthy a new year as possible.

I do enjoy the natural progression of the festive season from the build up to Christmas, the little bit of no man’s land in between December 25th and 31st to the promise of a fresh, new unwritten year ahead.

My return to QVC, after my considerable absence, got off to a bit of a false start. I had only just returned when I awoke one morning with a very sore throat so I took a test and, yep, I got a positive result just in time for Christmas! Fortunately, it wasn’t too serious. Just some unpleasant flu like symptoms. It did mean however that Christmas at Chez Huntley had to be postponed by a couple of days. I feel it was a very small compromise to ensure the safety of my family and others that had planned to visit.

Although we had a delayed Christmas it was a wonderful one. We did all the usual things we normally would. Christmas movies, board games, lovely food and, for some reason this year, an inordinate amount of hot chocolate! We actually had such a good time that we didn’t manage to get many photos. I got a couple but I look horrendously scruffy in my PJs, so I think I’ll keep them for the private family album!

Prior to Covid scuppering my Christmas plans, I was able to have a lovely night out with some of my QVC friends. James Murden organised the event for us all.

We met up in London for some festive cheer which included taking in the beautiful sights of Carnaby Street, followed by a trip to ‘Pantoland’ at The London Palladium.

Julian Clary, Donny Osmond and Nigel Havers totally stole the show. We laughed so much and it was just what we all needed, truly a night to remember. I think we’ll try to make it an annual tradition from now on.

We are so lucky to work with people who are more like family than colleagues. We don’t often get the chance for a catch-up outside of work, so well done to James for rallying us all together.

Most people I know are either in the Christmas or New Year camp. I’m team Christmas all the way, so my New Year was extremely quiet. I was fast asleep by 10pm! I think it was due, in part, to post Covid fatigue. I was utterly exhausted for a few days and I’m still not quite feeling up to my usual energy levels, but I’m getting plenty of rest and sleeping in. I feel a bit like a hibernating bear. I’ve never slept so well in my life!

One lady who always seems to have boundless energy is Dannii Minogue. She’s always busy and often having a good old boogie over on her Instagram account. I’m thrilled to be on air with her next Wednesday, January 12th. If you fancy joining us for some new year positive vibes, we’ll be over on QVC Style at 5pm.

I’d like to say another thank thank you for all the love and kindness you’ve shown me both here and on my social channels. I don’t get time to reply to each and every comment, but I do read as much as I possibly can. Please forgive me if I sometimes miss some, though. With there being only one of me it just isn’t possible to keep up with everything. You’ve no idea how much I appreciate you and your care. You warm my heart no end.

One last thing before I sign off… don’t forget that our great winter sale continues with some fantastic offers. Even better, you can take a further 15% off the sale prices by entering the code SALE15 at the checkout! How fabulous is that?

Remember, you can always follow me on my social channels if you like. I’m mostly active on Instagram these days, but I try to keep an eye on my other accounts as much as I can, too.

Lots of love to you and yours. Here’s to a wonderful 2022!
