Hello my dear friends. How are you? I hope you are keeping well, safe and taking some time for you.
I just wanted to write to remind you that it’s not selfish to take some time to recharge and replenish yourself. You wouldn’t expect your car to keep going if you never topped up the oil and petrol (or plug it in if you’re electric, like me). Likewise, if you aren’t taking good care of yourself, it can be harder to cope when the proverbial hits the fan!
Taking time for you doesn’t have to be a month-long yoga retreat in Bali… if only! It can be as simple as going for a ten-minute walk in nature without your smartphone, relaxing in a hot bath (may I suggest Sea Magik’s bath salts for this), turning off the noise and breathing or even singing to your pets!
I’ve been singing to my three today and it really made me switch off and forget, albeit temporarily, about everything else in the world. They just inspire me to sing the silliest of songs to them as I watch them simply be themselves. Out of all the cats I’ve ever had, I think the late great and greatly missed Pixiecat had the most songs of all. Maybe about equal with her sister, Popsie. I’m sure there’ll be many more for the cheeky boys, too, with time.
Speaking of cheeky boys, the main photo is a pic my son, Tom, took recently of Ziggycat. It really makes me laugh when I look at it. On my Instagram lots of people have been saying he looks like a panther or a puma. I agree! What a funny little fellow he is.
I’ve started my healthy eating regime again, cooking lots of really delicious, wholesome, home-cooked food. I find this can be a particularly good way to switch off and relax, as well as being an act of self-care for your body by feeding it with nourishing foods.
How do you like to relax? Please feel free to share below. I’m sure we could all do with some more suggestions.
Until next time, thank you for reading and I’ll see you soon on the tellybox!

Hi Catherine
You are so right about taking time out. I do Tai Chi classes which helps to relax me and is good for both mind and body.
I love watching your shows as you have a lovely warm personality which in turn makes me feel calmer. Keep up the good work.

Hi Catherine great blog. My ultimate me time is laying back in a lovely bath with some music on. Total bliss and im known for my love of my skincare and bath products. My favourites are Molton Brown or L’occitane and i select whatever one suits my mood that day. I have just discovered the lovely Sea Magik bath salts myself and they now have joined my line up! In fact i saw your show yesterday and managed to order the 3 piece skincare set which i cant wait to receive. Everyone needs some time to recharge – however small and it really does make a difference. Take care xx
Hi Catherine
I hope you are well. I’m sure many of us will appreciate the thoughtfulness of your blog and the lovely picture of Ziggycat – he looks very content 🐱🙂 Like you, I find spending time with the gorgeous fur babies in my life the best way to relax. Animals seem to have a natural ability to calm us, as well as being a joy to be around 💕
Take Care
