An Easter weekend of offers and Food Fest

I hope all’s well…

Thank you for all the kind comments left on my recent blogs, it’s much appreciated.

I’m always conscious of the fact that just because I love watching and talking about wildlife, not everyone will share my interest and passion – but that said, your comments have encouraged me to share photos I have taken and I’ll continue to do so going forward. So two days ago I was actually out looking for Adders emerging from their winter hibernacula and as you can imagine, I was carefully watching where I was walking with my head down, when out of the corner of my eye I sensed a large bird was overhead and swung round with my camera and fired off a few hasty shots. Although not the best shot of a Red Kite I’ve taken I was delighted that I got it in focus and captured some of its stunning beauty.

My son Jack bought his sister Ali a painting by numbers set for Christmas and last week she finally got down to business. Unfortunately she had decided the floor was the best place to produce her work of art and when she popped out to make a cup of tea, returned to find that Ellie had decided to help out (she’s very thoughtful like that is our Ellie!). Luckily the paint wasn’t too wet. 🙂

On Good Friday we have a fantastic Today’s Special Value (TSV) Pressure Washer from Wolf that is on pre-sell already – the Wolf 4×4 2000w 165BAR Pressure Washer! I’ve been lucky enough to give it a go and made a quick video about it.

It comes with loads of attachments and features including a high pressure lance with six meters of hose that stores on board, three different nozzles, Vario, Turbo and Angled, a car and window brush, patio cleaner, snow foam sprayer bottle and a five meter drain cleaning hose!

It’s really powerful producing 165 bar of pressure and for a pressure washer is really maneuverable, with four castor type wheels. Tommy Cross is our Wolf guest on Friday and will no doubt have loads of impressive demonstrations on-air. It’s also available at a great TSV price showing a great saving over buying direct from Wolf and as well as our 60 day money back guarantee, we have it available in three interest-free instalments (Easy Pays) should you wish to spread the cost.

I’ll be with Tommy later in the day and look forward to your company if you’re free to join us! There are some great garden inspired shows on all over the Easter weekend but it’s not all gardening as…

On Easter Sunday at 5pm it’s time for the next instalment of Andi Peters’ Food Fest with myself and the man himself! We’ll have the usual mix of gourmet delights, informed guests and of course a little fun 😉

Until next time… stay well washed and wild!

  1. Hi Dale
Another stunning photograph – might you consider doing a calendar at some point? Perhaps for an animal or bird charity of your choice? I for one would be more than happy to buy one – they are so beautiful I would frame them and display them on my wall!

  2. What a fantastic closeup of the Red Kite! Such detail of the feathers. How lucky to catch that. We are seeing more of these majestic birds here in Somerset now. They are such a joy to see circling on the air currents high in the sky. We are privileged to have approx 25 species of birds visit the garden (sadly not the Dartford Warbler though). My favourite being the pretty little Long Tailed Tit. We too have had the misfortune of having the odd bird bump into the windows and have had to perform TLC. Your heart misses a beat when you hear the sound they make on the glass. All these smaller birds feeding do attract a Goshawk and a Sparrow Hawk too so we do get some fleeting glimpses of them flying swiftly through on the hunt…… Keep up the good work Dale and keep posting your photos. Your enthusiasm for wildlife and photography is infectious, as is your love of your hounds too.🐾 Take care Julie x

    1. Thank you Julie, Yes every part of the UK seems to have it’s star wildlife – Somerset has some very special visitors too. I often spot a bird and photograph it then when I’m editing my photos try and identify it – if I’m unsure in the field. The Red Kite is probably the easiest Raptor to identify due to its beautiful tail and huge wings. Dale x

  3. Hello Dale, your photos are amazing and have lots of detail in them. I enjoy seeing your beautiful photographs. Please show us more of them.
    Love Karen x

  4. Thank you for your lovely blogs. My husband and I who are both elderly are enjoying the beautiful photos. You could have a yearly calendar of all the birds. We would certainly purchase them. Keep them coming.

    1. You’re very kind Antoinette – there’s certainly beauty all around if we just take a moment to notice – I’m grateful that I have the time to appreciate nature . Dale x
