‘Out, out’ – lots! And fab deals ahead!

The first time in I don’t know how long, I went out to a non-family event. A bit of a QVC “do”, a get-together in a (very loud!) wine bar in the city after work last Thursday. How many QVC guest presenters and presenters can you spot?*

Craigy dude was there and never lets me down! Watch this ha ha. Jemma Forte who brings us fabulous Molton Brown products (see below) got in on the action as well. 🙂 It was a mixture of behind-the-scenes crew, camera guys, tech people, and front of house peeps. Not a huge group but nevertheless enjoyable, despite the age old problem of needing to shout and shout to make yourself heard! Let’s face it, I was born in an old granny who likes tea rooms!

We are all now looking at how to organise a boat party (this one did not quite come off, hence it was in the wine bar in the end.) Possibly in the spring if we can get enough QVC people interested… Watch this space, eh? 🙂

I must say it feels quite weird to be going out and about, mixing groups of people again. Nice, but still weird! Have you been out since things opened up again or are you still sheltering indoors safely?

Snippets

Out with Litty

Regulars will remember that Litty is one of my writing friends. Whenever we get together she is very complimentary and extremely encouraging. She is now writing scripts, which is such an achievement! We put the world to rights and sat there for hours 🙂 great fun. I came home full of enthusiasm for getting on with my own novel, French Or Dutch!

Out with niece Becky

Becky was back from working on a film down on the south-west coast, and I must admit I was very glad to see her because it means I don’t have to look after my sister’s cats anymore! 🙂 We go to Fegu, a nice restaurant in Banstead where they do a delicious brunch.

‘Out out’ fashions – I got Gok!

As you may have realised, I did 11 days on the trot last week. I was supposed to have a break in the middle and we were very short of presenters, so I did a couple of hours. Just before that QVC get together, actually… One of the rearranged days meant I did not do the Ruth Langsford two hour show, instead I was in earlier and did my very first Gok Wan Wuli:Luu show. Great fun it was too! He asked for a chair and then channeled his inner Karen Carpenter! Actually if you look at some of the “Recently On Air’ items, you may see what I mean! Go here to shop his whole range, including several that are really good for those evening occasions when you go out, out, plus loads that are great for just being “in, in!”

I also met a couple of people talking about the Patrons club that have agreed to help out here in Surrey. It was very manic this week for sure!

Gifting tip off

Usually certain product lines sell out quite early, sometimes in October, despite being aimed at Christmas. So snap up this one –  our super little gingerbread man “Can’t Catch Me” hand cream sets from L’Occitane. Four 10ml’s in each of the cute little tins. Super stocking fillers! I won’t tell you how many I bought, but at about £10 each it’s a super deal. 🙂 Get yours here.

Watch

A super tribute to Prince Philip was on this week, with personal contributions from the royal family. It was on Wednesday night, I’m sure you can see it on catch-up. I will be watching it when my feet touch the ground. 🙂 And how exciting is Vigil at the moment! Can’t wait for the final episode of this Suranne Jones submarine based cop drama, to see who done it!

Podcast

It’s not too late to listen to the one about Elemis with Keeley, hot on the tail of their sell-out Today’s Special Value bundle! All our stock had gone by end of the 9am show so well done if you got yours! We also had the men’s gift sets in gift boxes – I bought three as early Christmas presents, getting very organised this month! And don’t forget Alison Cork tells us all about her new range and her impressive fitness regime, she looks amazing, check out her social media! Next week, Will chats to fashion expert, Miranda Holder. You can listen to all the podcasts here.

Vlog

Well, kind of a Charlie Brook funny, as he launched the new Centigrade TSV gilet and did not have enough models, so this was the result! An impromptu catwalk display featuring yours truly! Funny. 🙂 Go see our Centigrade coats and jackets here. I also got to do a very quick co-presenting stint with him in a Diamonique show – selling my lovely bee jewellery. I love it! Go here.

Book – Apples Never Fall

Finished this book this week and it is outstanding. The narration is excellent and the story is brilliant, so get it while you can, one of Liane Moriarty’s finest! Thank goodness for audiobooks because I did something to my eye this week, and reading is quite difficult, hence a shorter than normal blog! I ended up in A&E! Same as a couple of weeks ago, it took hours. I hope it doesn’t become a habit. More news next week…

  1. Hi Debbie,
I’m glad you enjoyed all your various gatherings and yes I agree it does seem very odd that you can mix with whoever and however many and how close you like especially whenever the nhs is massively struggling. You know first hand having used the hospitals yourself twice recently. If you haven’t seen this series of ambulance I think you’d find it interesting having been filmed during covid. I don’t know who or what is going to get us out of this mess. Now the driver shortage goes from bad to worse too!
Hope your eye gets better again soon and I really hope you get your book finished this year x
