Top Christmas outfits and early bird deals!

Loved wearing this Michele Hope top this week. (Item number 187042) Beautiful green sequins. So many people complimented me on it. Charlie Farley was particularly complimentary, though you never know when he’s taking the Mick ha ha. Completed with the MarlaWynne trousers with faux leather strips down the sides, and a nice pair of Vionic black boots.

But, what if you want sparkly?! My goodness, we have some wonderful choices, including lots of Frank Usher and Quacker Factory. In fact, Glenn Campbell will be bringing us a super “casual sparkle” show at the end of next week (around the 18th) but go here if you would like to shop some of the best Christmas jumpers and tops in advance of the big day. And don’t forget, all delivered in time for Christmas (you can order ’til the 20th this year.)

Incidentally, in that picture, I was presenting a footwear show, where there were some super slipper offers, check out the Skechers range online, as they always make good gifts.

Happy grandbaby time

So, I managed to have my early Christmas with my son Brad, his wife Kari and little blonde cutie Blake, nearly three-years-old. (My bubble.) Plus, we had a lovely surprise, as Lauren joined us for a walk in the woods in time to see Brad before he went. I always split my time with my children, and happily this Christmas as it’s Brad’s turn to go to his wife’s family for Christmas day. Lolly and co will be down for all five of the festive days and I’m off work between the 20th and the 27th, so I can’t wait.

What will your routine be? I know it’s all different this year for most of us. I think we will all make the best of it anyway.

Blake loved her Barbie truck and spent quite a while looking through the tiny little accessories that came with it, putting the stickers on it, and playing holidays with dollies who fitted in the truck, supplemented with my “grandbabies collection” of small cuddly toys. It was a treat to see (regulars will know they are not social media babies, hence fewer photos.). Blake is nine months older, so little adorable redhead Phoebe isn’t quite on the same level, but they’re not far off.  Some wonderful family times are ahead of us all, for sure!

Snippets

Early Christmas dinner

I was very impressed with my son Brad this time actually. He did quite a lot of the food and was pretty good at it! 🙂 Our early Christmas lunch was scrumptious. A good rehearsal for the real thing on the big day! LOL.

Linda’s tree

Here is the next in the line of the photos in my “best family Christmas trees” gallery – the one that my sister puts up each year. Our flats have very high ceilings and her tree is a  stonker! How beautiful is this! Another one next week, and mine the week after that.

Jewellery

Presenters are all given some lovely jewellery to wear, and this is the bracelet I’ve been wearing most of the time. A lovely Annie Haak! I take a little photograph of the item usually, with the item number when I first get it – so hopefully I remember what it is, if someone asks. 🙂 But if you want to know what a presenter is wearing, you should always be able to ask QVC via social media, as they should be keeping a record. 🙂 (And don’t forget, you can opt out to an operator if you use the Q Cut line; we will have more operators back again next year I’m sure). On the topic of jewellery, I’ve heard that my bee jewellery should be in stock again towards the end of January, I will keep you informed!

Watch

I can honestly say I have watched some fabulous films this week. Continuing with the regular must-watch list, I added “The Holiday” and “It’s a Wonderful Life”, but I have particularly been enjoying some of the Hallmark-type schmaltzy Christmas movies again this week. I liked “The Mistletoe Promise” – two people who hate Christmas make a pact to be each other’s plus ones to get through the Christmas period. I think you can guess what happens, but it was very enjoyable and a more unusual plot than the run-of-the-mill ones. Mind you, I have enjoyed those as well. Find it online!

“The Man Who Invented Christmas” was also a very entertaining movie. Starring Dan Stevens (from Downton Abbey and Beauty and the Beast) as Charles Dickens, as he struggles to write A Christmas Carol. Loved it 🙂 8 out of 10. “Christmas Eve”, a 2016 movie featuring Patrick Stewart and an array of people stuck in a lift during a power cut, lighthearted and, well, ok. I’ve also started watching a sci-fi one called Displacement, I will continue it when I am not so tired, as I think it’s one I need to concentrate on. 🙂 Do let me know if you have any recommendations.

Book of the week

This week, I noticed that one of the Romantic Novelist Association writers got a mention, because her book had been made into a movie and was showing online somewhere. I did have a quick look but couldn’t find it. But well done Tilly Tennant for A Very Vintage Christmas. The book sounds great! Hope the Movies24 film is as good!

  2. Hi Debs, fab update as usual ! I can recommend a really good film…… “Last Christmas” with the George Michael music ! Its Christmassy, quirky, funny and sad all at the same time ! The ending will keep you guessing as well ! Wishing you and your family a lovely Christmas and enjoy your week off, with your loved ones !

    1. That film I’ve seen it five times now. And I didn’t originally guess the ending either. Such wonderful comedy cameo performances aren’t they, and the George Michael music is but sublime. I’m sure I will watch it a few more times as well!

Best wishes and thank you for writing
      Debbie
