It’s not a secret anymore!
Earlier this month, I was asked to take part in a very special and exciting fashion shoot, which I had to keep completely under wraps until now. The photo shoot was for a new fashion line by one of the world’s most stylish women, famous female singer-songwriter, X Factor judge and mum. She is not only recognised for her musical and dance talents, but also as a fashion designer with a hugely popular range already running in Australia. Have you guessed who it might be?
Who is it?
It’s Dannii Minogue! This mega-talented woman will be the headlining our celebration of International Woman’s day as we launch her new, exclusive to QVC fashion and jewellery collection. Throughout the day, we will see many known and truly talented woman such as Amanda Holden, Tabitha Webb and Kelly Hoppen, to mention a few, as part of our event, so I hope you can join us too.
We are absolutely thrilled to bits to welcome Dannii and her stunning new clothing and jewellery collection. March 7th at 9pm is the date to put in your diary, as that’s when it will launch with a fabulous hi-lo hemline bibbed jersey shirt as the new Today’s Special Value with our own Ali Keenan. The collection looks after petite women in particular, but there is a Regular option too, with sizes from 6 – 22. The main difference is the length, rather than the over-all size. You can expect a real fresh, bright and stylish feel with bold colours and playful motifs.
As you can imagine, I could not wait to see the clothes and try out the styles. Our in-house presenter stylist Stine Wintlev chose the pieces and accessories. Stine has a great eye for bringing themes together. We also had the privilege of having the head of Make-Up Junkies International, June Kelly, to do my hair and make up. June is an exceptional make-up artist and knows my own style very well. The three of us work so well together and share a love of style and fashion. It was a real treat to get to work with such talented women.
The spotlight is on the upcoming Today’s Special Value. We teamed the hi-lo hemline bibbed jersey shirt with her slim fit jeans, Amanda Wakeley belt bag and Moda in Pelle loafers and, of course, Dannii’s fabulous jewellery. The shirt comes in a variety of bright colours including Royal Blue, Fuchsia, Cream, Black, Green and Purple. It flows and drapes beautifully and feels silky soft against the skin. It’s ideal over jeans and would look really cool with faux leather trousers, but, as you see in my photos, you can belt it, which opens up the option of wearing with skirts too. Plus, the block colours means that print would be a perfect partner to this. Bring on leopard print I say!
We used the jeans with a couple of looks. I am wearing the lighter indigo but there is a darker option too. I like the fact that they are not skinny skinny jeans and have a really flattering cut around the waist and thigh – not too tight and they close above the waist. I prefer that, as you feel more held in. The 7/8th length makes them the perfect spring-summer jeans.
This one was all about embracing that trendy boho look that Dannii does so well with effortless style. I’m wearing her long black and white eyelash cardigan with a slogan T-shirt, jeans and Moda in Pelle white leather loafers.
The cardigan is rich and luxurious and gives the look a designer feel. I love a slogan T-shirt and this one let’s us get a glimpse of Dannii’s playful side. Her T-shirts have a great shape and in an instant turn a casual outfit into something with a bit of spark!
For this one, we felt it channeled Dannii’s pop and dance vibe. The T-shirt (which comes in light pink and navy) is brilliant and immediately puts a smile on your face. The pleated-skirt is wonderful and the floral design feels slightly vintage, which makes this a timeless classic. I felt great in this outfit and look forward to wearing both pieces in lots of ways. The western style diamanté boots are Moda in Pelle.
In the above looks, we kept my hair up in the teased-out braid. June made the make-up look to feel modern and fresh by using a blue eyeliner just above and below the black liner. Lips we kept more neutral apart from the red lipstick (which was to echo the red lips in the T shirt.)
Here you can get a really good snap shot of Dannii’s jewellery designs. She has teamed up to do a collection with our own brand Diamonique. The designs are truly awesome. I just loved every single piece. She has incorporated Diamonique stones in the necklaces with lips, initials, charms and lightening bolts, and in the earrings with hearts and hoops. The rings feature simulated pearls and hearts, and that’s just a glimpse. I think the range really captures Dannii’s sparkly and effervescent personality.
I am wearing her faux leather jacket, which, by the way, is a must-have for your wardrobe for 2021 and beyond. It’s so well-made and I love the attention to detail on the stitching on the shoulders and side panels.
We left my hair down and tousled it to keep the look casual. June used a flat barrel tong through my hair and hairspray to fix and finish it.
I have no doubt that Dannii Minogue will be hugely popular and that you’ll love it. All I’d say is be quick if you like something. My shows with Dannii will be on March 8th at 11am and 4pm.
Finally, I’d like to say how privileged I feel to work with so many wonderful and talented women. I hope you can join us in celebrating International Women’s day.
