A marvellous time in the mountains!

Hi everyone,

I’m keeping this blog short as I’ve just got back from a trip to the US and am frantically trying to get the washing and ironing done, the lawn mowed and a hundred other things sorted before I’m back to work tomorrow with a 3am wake up call! Oh, what a fabulous holiday it was though.

We went to Utah to visit my niece who is now living there with her husband, and although it was a brief stay of just a week, we packed so much in. A night in a cabin in the beautiful Wasatch Mountains, where we barbecued and went running at 10,000 feet; phew, hard work, I was breathless, that altitude is hard on the lungs! (It was also in bear country – luckily we didn’t run into any bears but we did see some very cute chipmunks).

A couple of days in Salt Lake City, where we wandered the beautiful Red Butte Gardens and got to see inside the Capitol building. And then a few days in the stunning Zion National Park in south west Utah, where we marvelled at the red cliffs, rivers and canyons – some of the most incredible scenery I’ve ever had the pleasure of running, walking and driving through. I could talk about it all day but instead here are a few photos to give you a flavour.

Back to work now though, but staying with the outdoors theme, hiking boots are having a real fashion moment and Skechers are bringing us a great Today’s Special Value offer on Saturday 19th. The Glacial Ultra Suede Lace-Up Boot comes in six colours (Black, Chestnut, Navy, Chocolate, Taupe and Burgundy) and of course you don’t have to find a mountain to climb in these, they will look great with jeans or leggings and are super comfortable and practical for those cooler days. Great price too.

Also – and something so many of you have been waiting for – the big festive Liz Earle Today’s Special Value offer hits our screens on Sunday 20th (but you can get in early and order it HERE now)The Bergamot and Basil Face & Body Six Piece Beauty of Botanicals set features the new limited edition Bergamot and Basil fragrance in the form of the iconic Cleanse & Polish cleanser and, very excitingly,  because it has NEVER changed fragrance before in its entire history, the Instant Boost Skin Tonic! There’s also a body cream and a hand cream, plus an original Cleanse & Polish, skin repair moisturiser, two muslin cloths  and a gorgeous gift box. All available on four interest-free instalments and just £1.95 P&P.

I’ve already seen people chatting about it on social media and talking about buying more than one set for Christmas gifts – makes sense!

Right, back to the ironing… see you soon!

Love Jackie x

  1. Looks fantastic! I went on hols to Canada a few years back and went through the Rockies. We were trying to spot bears and one man in our party thought he had seen one. Turned out it was a large dog. He was teased so much every time we saw another dog we yelled “ hey, Dave look a bear!” Happy days!

    1. Haha, love that Anne! I’d love to go to Canada on hols – I did spend ten days there once in my news reporter days but didn’t see anything except a prairie and the inside of a Landrover. One day!

    1. Thanks Annette! Sounds like a perfect 60th birthday present – I think I like experiences more than presents these days. Thanks for getting in touch.

    1. Hi Pam, I’ve never seen the Grand Canyon but yes I think you’re right in that it has a similar feel. Utah was just stunningly beautiful. And yes the race went well, thank you!
