Scenic views and summer sales

Hi,

I’m crossing my fingers, toes and everything else today as I’m waiting to hear if I might be able to take part in my first running event for many months this coming weekend. If it goes ahead it will be small and with strict social distancing measures in place throughout and we’re just waiting to see if the organisers can make it happen, but oh my goodness what a joy it will be if they can!

I’m a little bit injured at the moment so I’ll be taking it easy if it goes ahead – I’ve got a bit of tendonitis in my leg/foot which has meant I haven’t been able to run much for the past couple of weeks. I also managed to slightly displace a rib right at the start of lockdown and then spent the past three months in pretty bad pain because of course all the chiropractors, physios etc. were closed, but now after several treatment sessions we seem to have got that back in place now in the past week or so, so here’s hoping… they tend to “pop out” again apparently, so I’ve got to be careful with that too, darn it!

Anyway on my last run along the Cotswold Way near my home I took some lovely photos so thought I’d share them – I can’t wait to get up there again. Running in the woods and hills just makes me happy.

A bargain also makes me happy and we’ve got some great summer sale offers at QVC at the moment. Monday and Tuesday 3rd and 4th August are both sale days and also see the return of live shows on the QVC Style channel, where I’ll be at 3 and 4pm on Monday. The Today’s Special Value offer that day will be a faux leather biker jacket from Centigrade. It’s washable, comes in Black, Light Beige, Grey, Oxblood and Olive and honestly the price is AMAZING.

Then on Tuesday something to store all your sale buys in! Periea are bringing us a set of four small and medium sized linen-look storage boxes. In a choice of Natural, Grey, Blue Grey or Pink these have a metal frame construction but fold flat when not in use, and I love the fact that they have front and side windows so you can easily see what’s inside. Great for off-season clothes, shoes, bed linen, towels, toys, anything! I’m going to organise my hand bag collection in mine I think.

There’s also a great Today’s Special Value offer from Korres coming up next week – it’s on-air on Wednesday but you can buy ahead early from Monday. This Pure Greek Olive Oil skincare collection includes a booster oil (which helps to tighten, firm and reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles), an intensive body treatment (great for slackened skin) and a solid cleansing balm bar.

And before all that the latest big offer from Dyson will air this Saturday 1st. It’s the V11 Animal Cordless vacuum cleaner. I’ve got the V10 at home, and it’s the best vacuum cleaner I’ve ever had. But when I borrowed the V11 (which has even more suction power) to try out, I was so impressed. It looks so sleek and takes up so little room, and the power is amazing – I spilled a pile of flour on our lounge carpet to test it and it just vanished!

The V11 is acoustically engineered so it’s quiet, transforms easily to a handheld, has three power modes, works on any floor type, gives you up to an hour of cleaning time on one charge… I could go on and on!

Anyway, lots of good deals at the moment as you can see. Enjoy and have a good week!

  1. Hi Jackie sorry to hear about your ribs and tendonitis, you really do go through it sometimes but always seem cheerful. I usually see an osteopath but haven’t been able to since March and she still can’t do treatments as the room she uses is an extension on her house but has a connecting door to her home, that makes all the difference apparently although I have never seen the other side of it!! Your photos are amazing,a lovely place to live. Like the sound of the Centigrade jacket, although I always associate them with 🥶 I already have lots of their items, always top quality. I ordered the chill bags that you recommended last week and they arrived today,I’m almost looking forward to going to the shops. Ha ha. If you get to do your run take care and enjoy. Love Debbie X

    1. Hi Debbie, yes I seem to lurch from one injury to another, I think my physio despairs of me! Hope you get to see your osteopath soon, I was without treatment for three months but thankfully my clinic has opened now with all the precautions. Glad you like the new bags! Take care.
