Getting ready for Christmas

Hello!

So, tell me, have you got your tree up? How early did you go? I always got a real one so can’t go too early (also my husband wouldn’t be too keen) but true to form, we went to pick one the other day. We took baby Beatrice with us of course and put her in a big fluffy pram suit to keep her warm whilst I picked between trees. For once, I think we’ve got the perfect size… an inch off the ceiling and not too big round the base. I have a tendency to pick enormous bushy trees and we spend the whole of December unable to move around it in the living room. I stick to traditional decorations in red and gold, which I love. I buy at least one new special bauble each year but I’m yet to get this years one. I might add these to my collection though as I need some more red ones. What colours do you go for? Do you change it yearly?

If you’re stocking up too, then you might want to know that we have a voucher code running at the moment that will allow you to get 25% off decorations and it runs until this Sunday 13th December. Just use the code TRIM25 to get the 25% off when spending £30 or more on selected Christmas lights and decor (excluding trees).

Here’s a photo of a sleepy reindeer who was snoozing whilst I decorated the tree! I just couldn’t resist when I found my stash of Christmas headbands in the decorations box.

I really, really need to get on with Christmas shopping. I don’t think I’ve ever started so late. I suppose that’s what happens when you have a 5 month old baby… not enough hours in the day. I think actually I will open the QVC app once I’ve finished writing this and get going because I have some ideas.

Christmas is going to be an exciting one this year for obvious reasons… baby Bea has already been sporting a few Christmas outfits and she loves the twinkly lights on the tree. I also feel like I missed out a bit last year as I was nearly 12 weeks pregnant and, in all honesty, feeling pretty awful. I didn’t eat much and the smell of the booze was a bit sickening to me. So I reckon that means I have to eat twice the amount this year to make up for it, right?

Anyway, let’s look at a couple of fabulous things coming up on QVC that could make perfect gifts or be a nice little extra treat for you.

On Tuesday 15th the Today’s Special Value will be from Lola Rose. It will be a trio of bracelets with a whopping six colour options to choose from. Remember that Lola Rose use semi-precious stones, not plastic beads, so they are really special to give as gifts.

The option I have here is the Green Agate Pearl Mix and each of the sets comes with one bracelet that includes a pearl… beautiful! There is a gem mix to suit everyone, including labradorite and even tourmaline. I like bracelets like this because they are so easy to wear… not too bulky but with plenty of colour and you can wear them singly or all together.

This week’s Big Deal on QVC Style is from Kim & Co. It is a high-lo hem top in her fabulous brushed venechia fabric. I think it’s one of those tops that you’ll keep choosing to wear time and time again because it’s so easy to style with skirts and trousers and, above all, very comfortable. Oh, and let’s not forget the fact that you don’t need to iron Kim’s clothes! Always a bonus.

It comes in five different colours/patterns. The one I’m wearing here is the Berry Multi and I really like the mix of colours and the ditsy style florals. I styled it with berry-coloured Phase Eight trousers and some Sam Edelman heels.

December’s Supersize of the month is from Tweak’d and its this Dhatelo Restore Tribal Chocolate All Purpose Rescue Cream in a whopping 446g pot!

This would be a fab gift for the chocolate lovers in your lives because it is like soft whipped chocolate cream but for your skin! Smooth and beautifully scented, it is a real treat of a moisturiser for the face and body that will leave you feeling soft and sumptuous.

Lastly, I just want to point you towards our Diamonique Design on the Month. It’s from Tova’s collection and is a beautiful duo of rings with the real star being an Asscher-cut stone in either simulated diamond or tanzanite. Asscher cuts are associated with very fine jewellery and was originally designed by Joseph Asscher who was famously tasked with cutting the Cullinan diamond for the Crown Jewels. He designed the cut in 1908 and it was super popular through the Art Deco period because of its straight lines. I love the hall of mirrors effect it gives, which works so well with our Diamonique stones. I had a show with Tova last week and she explained that the ring surrounding the beautiful Asscher cut stone is based on one that belonged to her aunt. It’s a lovely piece and at a special price because it is design of the month.

Right, that’s it from me for this blog, thank you for reading. I’d better get on with the Christmas shopping now or I’m going to run out of time. Oh, and just so you know, last QVC shopping day before Christmas is the 20th December.

Hope you are getting into the Christmas spirit too and have a great week.
