I was asked to take a couple of photos of the desirable Kipling bag (181987) featuring this Wednesday as our Today’s Special Value. As I was heading north to the Lake District to stay with my brother Pete for a weekend, I decided to give my sample its very own fashion shoot with some stunning backdrops from one of the most beautiful parts of the UK.
In a stylish Pewter Snake print, I thought my bag looked perfect in its natural surroundings with glorious autumn foliage and chilly mountain vistas. The large premium tote bag comes with a matching zip up pouch, perfect for storing make up or all those little, easy-to-lose items, plus Kipling’s signature Pom Pom monkey keyring.
It will also be available in green snake, cloud metallic and three quilted looks in black, plum and tan and you’ll only find it at QVC.
Kipling has become a real favourite for people like me who enjoy a practical and fashionable bag that has a casual edge to it. I have a quite a number of them and have one on my arm or over my shoulder pretty much wherever I go.

It is the most amazingly soft and realistic faux suede biker jacket and I was totally knocked out by the incredible quality for its price. I thought I’d also share with you some pictures of me managing to do something I’ve wanted to for a while. I love the exhilaration of swimming outdoors and Wastwater, England’s deepest lake, has been on my swim list for a while. It’s a majestically beautiful place in any weather, with rich colours on the scree slopes and vegetation, and the darkest of lake waters.
I hadn’t really planned on it being so late in the year but hey ho, when your brother offers to go in with you, it has to be done! So we donned wet-suits to help extend the dip, so that we could actually swim rather than just run in and out again, and in we went (it was really VERY cold)!
And yes, that is snow on the summit of Scarfell behind us… bonkers, maybe, but we felt fabulous afterwards!
Good luck with your Christmas shopping and preparations, I hope everything is going to plan but please don’t get stressed. It’s really all about spending time with those you love, if you’re lucky enough to have them with you. It’s not about creating a Christmas fit for a magazine centre spread…

Totally agree Kathy. So many of us are on our own or lost love ones just like Ali and Miceal. It comes to us all. Equally so many just don’t have the funds to spend like we are ‘meant to’. Hope you all enjoy your Christmas too x

You are so brave swimming in Wastwater at this time of the year!
We have a holiday static caravan nearby and my son and family live close, by the sea, and there has been snow on the mountain tops for over a week now. My grandfather used to walk on the path at the bottom of the scree’s carrying his bicycle and then cycle back along the road. Wastwater is known for the highest mountain (Scawfell) the deepest lake and the smallest church. The church is just so quaint and after doing the sightseeing a well deserved beer and food is had in the pub up there!!
We go up to the lake quite often and many times you see divers appear out of the depths of the lake, made me jump more than once!!
We come home for the winter months, but visit our son every fortnight during the winter, roll on spring when we are in residence again in that beautiful area, might see you sometime Kathy!
