Hi there, thanks for checking in on what I have been up to. I hope you and your friends and family are all doing ok? Things seem to have got a bit wonky very quickly haven’t they?! Plans are being cancelled all over the place and it feels like everyone I speak to has either got Covid or someone in their family has. So, I sincerely hope you are all well.
Like you, I expect, we had some lovely plans over this week. We were going to have friends over for a Christmas/House Warming party, and even though we were going to make sure we spent time outside in the garden with mulled wine, we decided that even though it would have been perfectly allowable to go ahead that it just wasn’t a good idea.
We didn’t want anyone catching it the week before Christmas because of us! So, it’s postponed to sometime in the future when it’s a little less stressful. At the time of writing this it’s all a bit up in the air, who knows what the guidelines will be in the next few days!
So instead of a party this weekend, we did what we so often do and headed into the fresh air for a family walk over at Studland beach. My sister visited along with her partner and dog, a lovely old staffy called Daisy who made it into our family photo! I think we definitely suit having a dog in the family, what do you think?
Even though the party was cancelled, one thing that I had ordered for it has been a real treat and won’t go to waste. I bought the Innovators Gas Fire Pit and I have to say, it’s one of the best things I’ve ever bought from QVC. I love a fire pit, but I hate stinking like smoke for days after so when I saw this on a recent hour with Charlie Brook and Lucy Piper I thought it was a perfect addition for our house for winter.
We have already had a lovely evening sitting around it with mulled wine and it kicks off a great deal of heat. You still want to have a coat on and perhaps a blanket but it means you really can socialise outside in the cold and it feels like a real event! It is a considered purchase but when I bought mine it was in Easy Payments so I hope they will put those back on soon as I can’t help thinking outside socialising will be the norm for quite a while longer. I think we will be sitting around this a lot this winter and beyond!
Coming up – Today’s Special Value – Algenist 23rd December
Algenist fans will be thrilled to learn we have a Today’s Special Value coming this Thursday. This brand is centred around the power of alguronic acid, an ingredient sustainably sourced from algae. This offer includes Genius Liquid Collagen, Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream and Triple Algae Eye Renewal Balm.
I am already a fan of the collagen serum, my skin always looks glowing when I’ve been using it. It can leave your skin looking bouncy and smoother in appearance and is rich in Omega 3, 6 and 9 and vitamin E. The eye balm is for fine lines and wrinkles and is also designed to brighten the eye area. You will also be getting an eye applicator which is cooling and can help the look of puffy eyes.
The Genius cream is rich and hydrating and again is great for giving a brighter appearance to the skin. If you’ve never tried this brand then it’s a good opportunity to try it for the first time with this full skincare regime at a Today’s Special Value price. Bring in the new year with a new skincare routine!
Need a bit of colour in your face this winter? – Amanda Harrington
This time of year is always a constant battle to not look quite so pale and grey around the edges! I’ve always countered this with some of my favourite tanning brands like James Read and Tan-Luxe. I love James’ serum and the Tan-Luxe Drops when I’ve got time to let it develop but sometimes you want that bronzed look instantly.
This is where Amanda Harrington comes in. Her face mist means that you can apply your colour there and then! The colour that goes on is the colour you will stay and it’s the fasted way I have ever found to get a tanned look. It comes with an applicator brush which you spray directly onto and then buff it onto your skin. I won’t lie, the brush hairs do come off a bit at first which I blew away with a hairdryer but Amanda has told me they are changing the brushes, so watch this space.
You choose your colour by your own natural skin tone and not by the colour you want to be. I wear Natural Honey and it’s such a good finish. There is one for the body too so I will link to the whole range that we have here for you to have a look at.
One last thing before I go. I spent a good few weeks begging my colleagues to dance around like wallies so that I could create a fun bit of Christmas love for all of you over on my Instagram page. Thankfully none of them said no! So here you go, my Christmas video to All I want for Christmas. See how many QVC faces I managed to snap, as well as many of our behind the scenes faces too.
I am wishing you all the loveliest of Christmases, even if it is another weird one. Keep safe and well and I shall see you on air over the festive season. The sales kick off on Boxing Day! Also, I hope you will be pleased to know that Morning Style with Katy starts again on January 5th, I can’t wait!
Thank you all so much for watching QVC this year and see you in 2022. Let’s hope next year is a better one, pretty sure I said that last year!
Lots of love
