Spring is in the air

Hi folks, how are we all doing? Making it through January? Has it felt like the longest month ever to you or have you been flying through it? I have definitely found it extra long this year. I am desperate for longer, sunnier, warmer days so we can spend more time outside. There’s one thing we can be sure of though and that is that spring is just around the corner and I for one am chomping at the bit to see the signs and I am pleased to say they are already showing.

The bulbs I planted in October are starting to sprout!! Isn’t that the most hopeful thing to see?! You may remember on a previous post that I showed you what bulbs I was putting in, tulips from Plants2Gardens, alliums from Hayloft Plants and Thompson & Morgan. Already I can see the daffodils coming through and some of the smaller alliums are sprouting too. I can’t wait to see them all in bloom and brighten up the garden! It’s still looking very wintery out there so I’m looking forward to seeing leaves back on the trees.

Gardening Insider

So, while I am on the subject of gardening I thought I should share that myself and Dale Franklin will be taking on the task of being ‘Gardening Insiders’ at QVC. We shall be sharing lots of upcoming plants, equipment and outdoor socialising products to help us all get the most out of our gardens this year and beyond.

So, make sure to keep an eye out on both mine and Dale’s blogs/social media to get a look at what’s coming. I’ve had a sneak peak at some of the ranges and there are some beautiful decorative pieces. Lots of incredibly stylish garden furniture in particular, I can’t wait for you to see it. There is the most beautiful macrame style hammock chair that is so dreamy. Obviously, there will be lots of new plants to come too, so watch this space.

So what else have I been up to? Well I tried something new this January that I have not done before but have wanted to for a long time. I went to a Gong Bath! A what? I hear you say! Yep, a Gong Bath, also known as a Sound Bath. It’s a relaxation session where you go to a darkened room lay down on blankets and cushions and simply relax while someone makes the most incredible sounds on giant gongs. Sounds whacky to some people I know but I really loved it.

Depending on what is used to hit the gongs it can sound like whales coming up through the ocean or it can also sound really dramatic like the soundtrack to a movie. The vibrations go through your body and are meant to ‘cleanse’, which is obviously subjective, but I know for sure that I did relax and I did manage to calm my busy mind. You don’t shut off completely as that’s not possible for your brain but I did find that it opened my imagination rather than me thinking about all the jobs I needed to get done.

I’m sure a lot of people actually fall asleep during the session. I went with three of my friends as it was kept to groups of 4 and it made it extra cosy and less intimidating than going with a room of strangers. You can find them all over the place so if you get a chance and are intrigued, give it a try!

New to QVC – Life Armour

On the subject of self-care and wellbeing I have also been trying something else new! A new brand to QVC called Life Armour and their food supplement drops. I am guilty of buying many a supplement and using them for a few days then they get put in the kitchen cupboard and I forget to take them. These however have been sitting on my dressing table with my serums and have become a part of my morning beauty routine.

I have now taken these more regularly than any other supplement I’ve ever tried. They taste really nice too, like a sweet syrup. I have been using the drops of Vitamin D and Bone Health which, you guessed it, are rich in Vit D which helps support normal function of your immune system and muscles as well as normal absorption of calcium to help support your bones and teeth.

I also have the Drops of Vitality high in B12 and B6 which contribute to reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Also, Biotin Vit B7 which contributes to the normal release of energy in the body. If, like me, you struggle to remember to take your supplements, or you hate tablets then give these a try. I will be ordering more of these for sure!

Coming up – Today’s Special Value Dyson V7 Animal Extra

I have been a Dyson user for many years now so I wondered what this particular model would have to offer over some of the other models. I have been pleasantly surprised with this model though, the V7 Animal Extra. It’s as powerful and convenient as many of the other models but this one has one major key difference; it has a hinged arm to be able to get under your furniture!!! Complete game-changer in my house as I, like you I expect, have a number of pieces of furniture that I can’t get under easily.

The TV stand, the shelving unit and beds are a few bugs-bares for cleaning but this has completely changed that. This model has a direct-drive cleaner head which delivers 75% more brush power than the Dyson V6 and has up to 30 minutes of powerful suction on one battery charge. That is dependent on whether or not you have it on Low or Max of course. It is certified asthma and allergy friendly by the Allergy Standards LTD too. It launches next Tuesday night, 1st Feb, into Weds so set the reminders if you want to see the demonstrations.

Morning Style with Katy

I hope you’ve been enjoying the Morning Style with Katy Shows so far, it’s been so nice to get the show back up and running. I look forward to lots of new fashion coming into QVC to share with you. I know January has had a lot of Sale items but there will be so many exciting things to come. I am even working on a secret project for it too, all will be revealed soon.

This jacket was the favourite item on Wednesday so I thought I would share it here too. It’s Helene Berman and it’s for all you leopard print fans. I wore the size 12 which was a really nice fit however I would suggest that if you are bigger busted and might want to do it up then you may want to consider going up a size. Generally I never do this style of jacket up but of course that’s personal choice. I saw Helene Berman wearing it on her show too and she had it done up so think about how you would wear it.

Don’t forget that if you want to be featured on the ‘Your Style’ feature then send your pictures of you in your QVC outfits to me via Twitter or Instagram or WhatsApp them via the QVC WhatsApp and label what you are wearing and that it’s for Morning Style.

That’s it from me for another blog, I’m off to work this afternoon. I hope you are all really well, I’ll blog again soon.

I’ll leave with a picture of the messages our lovely sound and camera team write on our mic packs for us. It’s amazing how these little things put a smile on your face.

Lots of Love Katy xx

  1. Hi, Katy! 🙌. Great blog, as ever, thank you. Just want to say how good you look in the picture of yourself in the Helene Berman jacket (although you’d look good wearing a dustbin liner!) – that lipstick is amazing on you! xx
