A busy start to the year

So how has January been so far for you? It’s traditionally a month I try to take relatively slower than the rest of the year however what with Myles having A levels looming at speed and Beely going back on Jan 4th to sixth form exams too, coupled with Mum going in for a hip replacement (today!), there’s not been an awful lot of relaxing going on – other than when I can grab a few minutes here and there and I have to say I could have quite cheerfully had “50 winks” as my grandmother used to say, on set in the cocoon chair the other day. It’s amazing how quickly the body relaxes with the gentle swinging motion.

I have enjoyed the beautiful weather we are having though, as has Whizz. I’ve been littering my Instagram stories with pictures of our walks. The cold weather has been a tad brutal on some days but when the sun comes out, it’s just glorious. A bit like the movement of the cocoon chair, I find walking through nature is another wonderful way to reset.

I’ve been particularly diligent with my SPF recently as am using the M Asam retinol treatment. The supersize was such a great price that I really wanted to give it a go. I’m not great at weekly treatments or anything like that as I forget, but if it is something I can slot in my daily routine without trouble, I’m more likely to do it. So far I’m on day 4 of using them every night and I’ve already been blown away by the change in texture on my skin, it feels like glass!

Talking of routine, I am so looking forward to working with Davina when we launch the exercise bike TSV on Friday evening. She’s a machine and really inspires me to keep moving! Last year I had a hip condition finally diagnosed and can no longer do any horse riding or impact exercise so it’s cycling and swimming for me and I’m determined to do it well! The great thing about this bike is that anyone can use it and you can build up how much you do as you go but remain in the warm and dry comfort of home.

That’s it from me today. Here’s a picture taken from my walk this morning, how beautiful is the light? Have a great rest of January – we will be talking about spring and seeing our gardens come to life before we know it!

Much love as always
