Being social and sharing make-up tips

My last blog featured the last sunny, warm weekend and here we are now, bracing ourselves for cold. How quickly does the temperature change? I left a women’s event in central London last night where it was 15 degrees and when I got home to Warwickshire, it was just 5… I know in the grand scheme of things that isn’t that low, but it was the change in just 2 hours and 100 miles that made my jaw drop!

So, I thought with that in mind, I would do a wee blog on changing seasons and changing colour! I find with the season change, I also change my colours when it comes to nails and make-up – and I’m most certain that I am not the only one who does that!  Currently, I am doing generally one or the other of the following. Firstly, I’m loving, along with soft tailoring that we always enjoy in autumn, the simple clean look that you see here. I tend to share quite a lot on my social media and this is a snapshot taken from an IGTV chat that I did whilst wearing the Doll 10 Effortlash mascara that currently isn’t in stock. Similar, however, is the Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye mascara that comes with a perfect kit to complete this look, the shadow colours were from Tarte which you can find in the Tarte Pro Remix palette and a black gel eyeliner.

The other look I am loving is reds!! Finally, make-up brands are all offering loads of red shades, which is amazing because it’s something I have wanted to see for such a long time! Having just mentioned the Tarte Pro Remix palette I’m going to suggest it again, as it not only has the nudes, it also has the reds and it’s going to keep being relevant right through to Christmas when I am most definitely going to be sporting the green! At the moment though, my smoky eye is all about the beautiful rose tones, I am just loving them! I have accidentally started a bit of a #blendyblend theme over on my IGTV off the back of some make-up tutorials, as one thing I’ve learned over the years is that blending is the key!!  You know me, I love a dramatic and smoky eye 🙂 This pic was actually just taken after I filmed a tutorial on contouring (it’s not as hard as it sounds)… I’ve done a few other tutorials over on my IGTV. I don’t do masses as I’m not a make-up artist and I chat about lots of other things but I know we are all interested in sharing tips together so I try to keep a balance of a bit of everything!

Onto the home front, we’ve had a bit of a change around at home and I am about to redecorate my office, which is super exciting, I’m off to buy paint this afternoon so no doubt will be sharing pics of that process with you soon. Also, brace yourself, Myles turned 16 last week, we had a wonderful day and as he’s a huge fan of fish, I decorated his chocolate cake with them. Not the most adventurous of my birthday creations over the years but it seems that with age, they aren’t so into the vampire castles etc, funny that! I have to say the absolute highlight of my life is being a mum. I went into adulthood with no intention of having children, then one day suddenly I changed my mind and here we are, 16 years later. It is, hands down, the best thing I’ve ever done and the hugest blessing too.

Loads of love to you as always,

Pipa x
