Time to stop and smell the roses

I know I need to take some time out when I have emotional reactions to certain fragrances, so as I type this, the trailer is pretty much packed and ready for our annual camping trip to the Isle of Wight. We go every year, and so we were delighted when it was announced that campsites could reopen! It’s my favourite time of the year to recharge my batteries, so I’m going armed with books, a hot water bottle (it gets cold in the evening!) and plenty of comfy clothes to relax in 🙂 (by the way, in this picture I’m smelling the Judith Williams retinol capsules that will be coming soon – if you close your eyes, it’s like smelling a rose!)

As much as I love a bit of luxury, stick me in a field under a tree and I relax in a second! I think we are all a bit frazzled this year, aren’t we? We’ve changed and adapted, and by all accounts, done really well! This is me on a training call with the lovely Grace from Elemis about some new products heading our way… (in the meantime, click here for the beautiful Botanical Skin Firming six-piece Today’s Special Value) I’ve never been a fan of talking on the phone, certainly not Skyping or anything like that, I’m much more of a face to face person, so the whole Zoom thing has been quite the learning curve! Unfortunately, Myles had his GCSEs cancelled (he’s delighted!) and who knows what they will be like next year when Beely gets to sit them, but we’ve all had to embrace technology in a whole new way, haven’t we? Who would have thought that we would be communicating via our screens as much as we have! It’ll be lovely to go and sit in a field and let the fresh air give us a reboot 🙂 Mind you, talking of using technology more than ever, Kathy Cangas refers to “tech-neck”, which always makes me laugh – so not forgetting that area, we have a giant-sized throat cream as our Beauty Pick of the Month, which is rather timely.

Sealy are also back with a TSV, which if you’re in the market for a new bed, I would heartily recommend. I went for it back in January and have to say we’ve been delighted! Only last year we invested in a new orthopaedic memory foam mattress, as I have hypermobility and have had lots of joint pain for the last year or so, but within a few months it had caved terribly. Not our Sealy bed though – it’s absolutely fabulous and the drawers are just perfect for hiding all my beauty goodies that I’m not ready to open just yet.

Finally, here’s something a little different for you. I was interviewed by the Cotswolds People podcast last week, you can listen to here on Apple or here on Spotify or just search it up on whichever platform you listen on. You can hear a bit of my story and how I wound up at QVC.

I’ll pop some pics of us camping in the next blog but in the meantime, I’m sure I’ll catch up with you somewhere on social media.

Much love as always,

Pipa x
