More big Beauty Month offers!

Hi everyone,

How have you been? I hope you’ve managed to enjoy some of the sunny weather we’ve had lately. The days have been incredible but sleeping has been a bit tough – never happy haha!

I spent the other morning rearranging a bouquet of flowers I had bought for my husband Steve’s 40th birthday. A couple of the blooms had past their best, so I split the arrangement up into four smaller ones to throw some colour around the house. I really enjoyed doing it, there was something quite meditative about it!

As I’m sure you know by now, June is Beauty Month at QVC. I’ve been doing some fun shows on-air with beauty expert, Alison Young. We’re back together on Sunday 20th June at 3pm and on Wednesday 30th June at 7pm for the Beauty Month Grand Finale show.

If you haven’t heard already, Ali’s just released her debut book called The Beauty Insider. She received lots of lovely comments from many of you and it’s truly made her year, she got quite emotional about it! I pre-ordered my copy back in March and it arrived a couple of weeks ago. Let me know if you’ve started reading yours – just comment below and I’ll make sure I pass your messages to Ali.

Talking of beauty, there are a couple of big offers coming to QVC. On Friday 18th June the Bareminerals team will be launching a four-piece Must Have Essentials Collection. It features their award-winning Original Mineral Foundation with a Smoothing Face Brush, plus the new Original Liquid Concealer and the high-shine Gen Nude Patent Lip Lacquer.

Daniel and Hayley from Bareminerals are my guests on the Inside QVC podcast this week we spoke about their journeys within the beauty industry, how the last year has changed them and they reveal some of the new products coming up later this year!

Liz Earle are treating us to a Today’s Special Value offer on Sunday 20th June. It’s a four-piece collection focussed on firming and smoothing the appearance of the skin. Excitingly, it features one of their latest launches, the Superskin Alt Retinol Paste! This new product is a luxurious overnight treatment formulated to leave your skin feeling more supple and it gives the appearance of a brighter, plumped and radiant-looking complexion. You also get a double size Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, Instant Boost Skin Tonic and your choice of Superskin Moisturiser (Natural Neroli or Unscented).

I must tell you, the other morning I woke up and spent some time pottering around the kitchen (as you do), and I suddenly thought: where’s Archie gone? I had a moment of panic thinking he’d found a new escape route into the neighbour’s garden (that’s another story!).

Anyway, after much searching, I went upstairs to our bedroom and he’d clearly decided it was far too early to be up! He’s getting a big haircut soon bless him, so he’ll be nice and cool. He currently loves laying on the cold floor in the kitchen. Do you have any tips for keeping your pets cool in the warmer weather? Leave me a comment below, I’d love to hear them.

With our hairy little friends in mind, Shark will be bringing a brilliant deal to QVC TV on Saturday 19th June (the product number is 809714). It’s a lightweight, corded vacuum cleaner and features clever DuoClean technology to remove dirt from hard and carpeted floors, plus special Anti-Hair Wrap technology to help avoid pesky tangles! It will also be available to order early on our website (link: qvcuk.com) from Thursday 17th June, so you can secure yours ahead of the big on-air launch.

Finally, one of my favourite podcasts to have recorded in the past was with Kim Medelson from Kim & Co. Her life story is really fascinating, there will definitely be things in the episode that will surprise you. You can listen to it here.

QVC’s Best Find of the Day on Tuesday 22nd June will be a soft jersey culotte jumpsuit from Kim & Co (the product number is 189281). It will be available in lots of colour and print options too, so I thought I’d bring you a little preview.

Fingers crossed we get some more sunny days very soon. I hope you have a lovely couple of weeks, I’ll be back with another blog in a fortnight. In the meantime, feel free to get in touch whenever you like on my Instagram, Facebook and Twitter pages.

See you soon, Will x

  1. Hi Will, my tip to keep Archie cool in the day is get a children’s little paddling pool for the garden in the shade, put enough water in it to cover his paws and let him lie or sit in it… then he can also drink from it when he gets thirsty!! and at night a little Meaco cooling fan!! Hope that helps!

Love the photo of the beautiful Lavender plant!

    Keep cool!!

    Liz x

  2. We used to keep our dog cool by putting a wet towel over her when she lay on the floor. It didnt stay on very long but seemed to do the trick.

    1. That’s a great tip Sandra, thank you! Archie loves laying on the kitchen floor during the hot weather as it’s very cool. Take care, Will x

  3. I kept my dog cool by putting rock sulphur in it. You can get it from Amazon. It definitely kept him cool. It is a very old recipe, for want of a better word, but really does work.

    1. Hi Wendy,

Thank you very much for this, will take a look! Apologies for my delayed reply, very grateful that you took the time to send this to me.

      Best wishes, Will x

  4. Hi Will, love your blog 🙂 My little Yorkie sits by the fridge until she gets her ice cube fix! You’re a brave person if you go anywhere near the kitchen on a hot day and don’t get her an ice cube.

Sooo jealous of your garden – I’m trying to breathe some life into mine xx

    Take care, stay safe

    Pam xx

    1. Hi Pam!

That’s so sweet, Archie loves an ice cube in his water bowl ha ha. We were walking in the park earlier and the gardeners were watering, he had a lovely time sitting by the hoses!

      Take care, Will x

  5. Hi Will I’m one of those ladies that does not have all the modern technology so this is the only way I can get in touch with you, I like to spend my money on other things such as QVC, but I would like to ask you in all the beauty programmes when the models do the cleansing process their eye brows always stay on, this is a problem I have as mine are very fair and have to be pencilled in every day with limited success some days, what I would like to ask is how do they keep theirs on? Have they had them tattooed on or are they dyed? Any advice you can offer would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

    1. Hi there Jill,

Really lovely to hear from you.

In terms of brows, you can absolutely have them dyed, or if you want to create a fuller looking brow look into the microblading technique, many good salons will offer this treatment.

      Hope that helps!

      Best wishes, Will x
