New year, new you with Morning Style

Kathy in great company this morning with a fab new outfit, a friendly mannequin… and all you Q-tastic viewers, of course!

First things first, Happy New Year! What a year 2020 has been, I bet a lot of us are welcoming 2021 with open arms (albeit socially distanced still). The saying “a new year, a new you” has never had greater meaning for me personally, and I hope this sentiment resonates with you. It’s all about new beginnings, and what better place to start than with your wardrobe. Morning Style is back for a new season with a fresh new look!

I’ve been lucky enough to have worked closely with Kathy (@kathytaylertv) since starting as a stylist with QVC almost four years ago. I used to cover the live fashion shows, along with the talented Fashion Stylist Team, and would also put together outfits many of you will have seen on Morning Style. So, to celebrate the new year and a new season of your weekly fashion fix with Kathy, I organised a shoot to showcase a curated selection of fabulous looks from some of our well-known brands.

My collaboration with Kathy as the in-house Talent Stylist has been all about capturing the essence of her personal style, which she describes as “comfortable, casual elegance”. She has an instantly recognisable signature look, which all comes down to the materials she chooses to wear, combined with an easy-going, fuss-free attitude towards fashion.

For this edit, I worked with three key elements to bring my streamlined, contemporary mood board for Kathy to life: linen-cotton blends, suede and rustic silver jewellery.

To summarise, I wanted to capture contemporary fashion, combined with the latest trends. I am an advocate for feeling comfortable in your own skin, with the help of the clothes you choose to wear. I wanted to inspire looks by showcasing different ways to style your outfits with key pieces and combining these with your own treasures.
