It’s a ‘wrap, Dyson style. And Blake-sitting!

Had a lovely time this week, as they gave me one of the new Copper tone, limited-edition Dyson Airwraps to play around with. 🙂 I took it home and this was the result…

I love it so much, and use it nearly all the time before I go on the telly-box, here at QVC. Mind you, I wouldn’t have said it was worth it right at the start when they first launched, but now I would not be without it. Partly is because of the quality and condition it leaves my hair in. Get it now though, since with this one you get the little bag I show you in this video, as well. Go here to buy it.

Also, must just quickly flag up that the Elemis Today’s Special Value is on next weekend, but is will be available from Monday 2nd. Tens of thousands will go before 8th, so do feel free to get in early. Here’s my take on it and also a mention of a super men’s deal. It’s the big one for Christmas, so don’t miss out!

Blake-sitting

My lovely nearly 3-year-old granddaughter came for an overnight visit recently. It was such a pleasure to have her to stay. She gets night terrors, which was a bit arduous for her, but in the daytime to amuse herself we found her a new distraction… Turning out my jewellery boxes! 🙂 Oh how she loved it! Now that I have all my jewellery in one place, there is quite a lot of it I realise – albeit old-fashioned and mostly costume jewellery. So she spent about two hours going through it all!

We had some super times as well out looking for pinecones within the grounds with one of her cousins. Plus, we went to see Cinderella at the cinema. I haven’t been for ages so it was quite a treat. I love her very much. I’m missing Phoebe in Wales terribly too, I should’ve been there this week. 🙁

Elemis Zoom

Had a good laugh this week with my colleagues when Grace from Elemis told us all about the TSV happening that weekend. Maybe you saw the launch that happened on Wednesday 28th online with Will Gowing and lovely Keeley over in Cyprus. Check out their social media to catch up on it. I do love a good Zoom meeting. I am a bit of a sucker for it I must be honest. Enjoyed one with MP Steve Baker this week, for instance.

I co-hosted my own this week, as well, for my association. A training one – for councillors, mainly in the South West, who want to use a Facebook page. We had over 100 people who wanted to join in – the limit was 100! Hopefully it helped people. But then you know, I am a geek. 🙂

All lovely walks this week with sister, she’s been dragging me out and boy am I glad of it. This was one in the most beautiful sunshine. Don’t you just love the autumn colours? It was really funny because we did one walk quite late as the sun went down, and as it started getting dark and spooky in the woods, she lost her gloves! We had to walk an extra 15 minutes trying to trace them and only found one! Fortunately, she located the other one, soaking wet, the next morning – about 20 feet from where we stopped looking! But it made me think, considering the 31st is Halloween, it’s a good job we got home when we did! Actually, I’m not really ever that scared about stuff like that. But don’t test me on it. 🙂 Hope you have a nice time whatever you do. Albeit a bit more limited than usual this year.

Friday flashback

Facebook gave me the courtesy of this flashback this week, 11 years ago when I did my first live show back at QVC after my nine year gap (I was there for six years from the beginning, originally). Good old Ralph. I don’t know what he’s doing nowadays, as he doesn’t do QVC anymore. I imagine doing really well with some jewellery brand or other elsewhere. We still have some wonderful pearl designs here on QVC – go and have a look.

Actually, I did a super show with Hannah Clemo this week, she was the subject of Will’s last podcast, so don’t miss it! Go here to listen to it – she is so clever and so accomplished – just listen to some of the jewellery journeys she has had. Lovely to find out about the guests, isn’t it? And if you missed it my one is here, plus do look out for next week, with our on-air Elemis team: Keeley Aydin, Christina Hyams and Grace Coburn.

Watch – Harlots series three returns

I made a little mistake and accidentally looked at the summaries for each episode, halfway through the series… All I can say, is history repeats itself and when you see it, you will know why. We follow the late 1700s/early 1800s stories of Molly houses in old-fashioned London town. Strong women characters and very compelling plots. Love it. I’m sure series one and two are still on catch up, if you want to begin at the beginning and have a little binge watch! Especially if you’re somewhere where you’re having to spend more time indoors. 🙂 It’s feast for the eyes, and highly recommended.

Blooper

I don’t think it was observed by anybody, but I just had to tell you about this as it made Charlie lose it on-air when I referenced it that night after the tears on my show… Earlier, just before he was due to go on air, he was behind the scenes in our dressing room area and spilt some olive oil from his salad somewhere very inappropriate on his trousers! Then, he made it worse by getting a wet wipe. You can imagine what the stain looked like!! So he said to me “help, I don’t know what I’m going to do! How can I dry it?” So, basically, I assisted him with the aid of a Dyson Supersonic hairdryer. Thing is, it worked. 🙂 Yes, we were both laughing our socks off, and yes, you can imagine what some of the jokes were, can’t you?! 🙂

Book

I’m loving listening to Tales From the Folly by Ben Aaronovitch, short stories that were originally written to go in exclusive editions of some of his excellent Rivers of London novels. Ben himself sets the scene at the start of each. Then my favourite narrator ever, Kobna Holdbrook Smith, does the honours as skillfully as usual. Definitely well worth a listen.

By the way, Jackie Kabler‘s book, The Perfect Couple, is now officially a bestseller and has had over 5000 reviews online! My goodness me, it is doing well! Well done Jackie. And Julia Roberts did her big cover reveal for her next novel too this week. So I had my own book writing updates this week… You can see what it is by looking at this vlog

Vlog of the week

A lovely walk, but in the middle of it, a promise I made about National Novel Writing Month (NanoWriMo – November) and my own fifth novel, French Or Dutch. You heard it here first… (Well, actually you heard it on my Facebook page first, so do follow me if you want to be ahead of the crowd! Links are below.)

QVC top deals for the next seven days

Friday (today) – go here to see and buy what’s left of the fabulous transformative Perricone collection. I have definitely felt a difference on my face, particularly after using the night-time routine – including the supersize night cream that’s featured in this offer. And as I said in last weeks blog, it’s one of the best ways to get yourself into a little bit of such a premium range, when it’s a TSV.

Saturday – It’s the turn of the Shark! And here is another video telling you more about this clever cordless, which helps to stop hair blockages and can even polish your floor as it goes along, plus, it bends so you don’t have to, to get underneath furniture. 🙂 Join us late tonight and through the day tomorrow, as long as the stocks last. 🙂

Sunday – also available right now, the super Tarte five-piece Shape Tape Dream Team collection with bag. Their amazing foundation and sponge applicator, together with the iconic concealer. Go here to see and buy it.

Now back to the Today’s Special Values for the rest of the week:

Monday – firstly, the Elemis TSV goes on sale – see above and get in early!

Monday – Oh my goodness, it’s an Alison Cork day! The pre-lit Christmas glitter branch tree is an astonishingly low price and at two feet tall, it will still be very noticeable and add a wonderful bit of sparkle to your home this Christmas. It will fly out so don’t miss it!

Tuesday – the Retinol Science range has been one of the most successful of all time for Judith Williams, and I’m not surprised. Firstly, look at the size of these pieces! Secondly, how amazing to know that you have one of the most impactful ingredients around in skincare today. We get given samples, and I must say I don’t think I’ve ever seen quite so much product in a TSV like this. Not just the serum, but the day cream and night cream, all 100ml or more. Retinol does a very, very special job. Especially good for targeting a mature skin showing signs of ageing, they are highly effective and developed for maximum results to help improve skin texture and tone. Given that you have a 60-day trial, and if it’s a present for Christmas, you’ve got until the end of January to make up your mind, this is the best time to transform tired, stressed-looking skin, courtesy of the new TSV from Judith. My sister loves her retinol range. She says: “There is an amazing quality feel to all three products and it really worked on my skin straight away, it looks much fresher. Even the night cream felt light and absorbed really thoroughly. The supersize mean I’ll be able to spoil my skin for months, NOT weeks.”

Wednesday – a jewellery TSV deal, and it’s a three stack bracelet in sterling silver from designer Annie Haak!

ThursdayLe Creuset are back, so stock up for Christmas. The cast iron 26cm casserole and 30cm grill pan are completed with a clever cookbook.

FridayMr Max Hollywood knit straight leg trousers are here in a choice of lengths.

Friday 9pm – check out the early launch of Saturday’s deal from Skechers, the Go Walk arch-fit suede chugga boot. More about this next week.

Also, probably at the end of the week the Yankee Candle six-piece Ultimate collection goes on sale, look out for it! 🙂

Next week – a treasure trove of new old family videos is unearthed, and the new sofa finally arrives! Plus, I will be doing daily vlogs on my Facebook page and some of my other social media, so join in if you can. (#ThursdayBantz is always a popular one too 🙂 ) Have a great week, and don’t forget QVC is always there for you whatever you are doing.

Best wishes,

Debs

  2. Hi Debbie,
Can I ask why you say you weren’t convinced about the dyson initially? The price? I still love your hair straight but I know curly is all the rage.
Hope you get to see phoebe soon but honestly you’re just so lucky you have so much family and also that you’re not restricted again. Just focus on that. It’s so tough for so many of us in so many ways..jobs, health, family etc etc But I appreciate that the decisions that are being made are impossible. It’s really scary and anxious thinking of the future. Take care x

  3. Oh thanks Debbie. You have so much information on your weekly story. Such a lovely mix too it’s a great read. Have a great week. Best wishes judex

  4. Hi Debbie watched your shark show Friday 30/10/20 loved your jumper either you’ve lost weight or that jumper gave the impression you had, love it, must have any idea which it was, it was grey and tunic style if that helps.

  5. Lovely to read your blog as usual. I now have a problem of my own. I sent back some Quacker trousers recently. According to your CC they haven’t arrived, according to Post Office they have. These jogging wrrevfaulty, I returned the. Within 6 months, asking if Patrick could have a look at them. According to CC there’s nothing they can do. I paid £48 including two lots of postage and apparently it’s “StuffIt” according to CC. Can you do anything to help. I have been with QVC since the start, have spent thousands however CC were quite dismissive and quite honestly all I wanted was a replacement, the jogging shoes were faulty, nothing to do with me and quite honestly I cannot afford to lose nearly £50, can you?

  6. Enjoyed reading your blog, so interesting, I got the Elemis TSV. Glad you are able to see some of your family, here in Wales we are on a fire break for 2 weeks so can’t see any family, and all the pubs eating places and Shops are closed, and my grandson had to close his hair salon as all hairdressers had to close. The fire break will be lifted on the 9th November so can’t wait for that day to come. Look forward to your next blog god bless for now x
